I also appreciate the professionalism of Dr. Smith in providing periodontal advice and care.
She was out to lunch and came back 1/2 hour late for my first appt.
I had no upper teeth except a bridge my husband had glued together til I could get to a dentist.
After she quickly examined my mouth she gave me an estimate for making a denture then having posts put in my gums and finally having removable but permanent snap in teeth. It was 20,000.00
I was in shock when she told me to come back with my husband on my next visit so she could go over this with him.
That day she took no impression, made no effort to get a denture started etc. 2 weeks later I bring my husband back. He says?
my wife hasn't eaten solid food in a month, she then proceeds to tell him it could cost 30,000.00 and upwards while she has a mold in my mouth.
She turns to me and asks me if I'm annorexic?.he said she's starving to death. and she said the denture would probably take up to 3 weeks as its holiday time, No I'll try to expedite things or this is an emergency etc.
We walked out of there after paying the amount demanded before it was made 2,000.00 for an upper denture.
I decided once I got the denture from her I would go to another dentist and start over with the next steps and never see this horrid woman again.
When they finally caLLED AND said my denture was in ..weeks later I asked to pick it up , and they refused because I said I was not going to have anymore done.
long story short my husband a pharmacist called her personally and
said patient rights demanded she give me what I had already paid for and she refused him saying she would only send them to another dentist.
I finally got the denture when I went to a surgeon and he insisted she release it as I'd need them after surgery.
when he put them in he said they looked like they belonged to an elderly man. They were not made out of my impression, and I think she deliberately sent them,. I used them after much rehabbing of them because I had no choice.
Meanwhile I had gotten a letter from crowns saying they no longer wanted me as a patient!!!! I just couldn't believe it. But being in business for many years, I knew this young woman was covering her butt. I think I should have sent a letter to the dental board.
But it's taken me til now to even be able to talk about it.
PLEASE DO NOT GO THERE!!!!
They are both very thorough. I've been seeing them for about 4 or 5 years.
extensive gum surgery first of all, and the provider at this location whose specialty was that handled my weeks of surgery and
recovery. I did really well with that, and when that was finished, they started in on my teeth, which, for the reasons stated already,
my teeth were literally falling apart. I needed a total of 7 crowns, plus a few cavities fixed. Major time consuming, and I am on
oxygen all the time, so there was that to consider. They lined the work up, doing as much as they could at one time, to make it possible for me to not have to come so many times. The first trip for crowns I was there five hours. The staff is awesome. All
the dentists assistants were more than just that. They could not have been any better and the dentist himself, worked so
smoothly with me, going from me to others so that no one waited on him and it went so well, it hardly seemed like 5 hours. I have
several more appointments yet to go, with more crowns to do, but, I just cannot say enough about the great way this office is
ran, and the staff is so good and working with you on the time and dates for your next service. No where can you get crowns
done this reasonable and the providers be so very nice, offering some ways of finance when you have the amount of work
I needed done. I need to say that this review is being written by the patients mother who was there when this work was being
done. They allowed my to sit with my son as some of the work was done. His health issues makes it hard for work like this
and these people were so good and kind. Every word of this review is true. His name is Mitchell Mathews and he lives in
.Mauldin SC, and I live in W North Carolina. He is very happy with this place and so am I, and tho he is a grown man, me, as his
mom is still involved in his life.
Good teamwork on the prep of the tooth.
Digital equipment works well.
Seems to work as a well oiled machine.
Plan to have them provide my ongoing dental work.
