BACKYARD COMPANY

The guys came and got right to work.  First I walked the property with Charlie and stringed off the fence perimeter.  The crew then started to dig the post holes, they were very precise and made sure the holes were plenty big enough and perfect size for the 6x6 posts.  They spent a lot of time making sure the posts were set straight and properly.  From their every step was reviewed and any questions were addressed with me immediately.  Overall it was a great experience and communication and workmanship was top notch!

We were satisfied with the deck and fence at first. They cleaned up the yard and the deck looked awesome. Come spring it's another story. There are boards that are curling and there are parts of the deck that are separating. After several phone calls and emails, I still have not heard back from John Rodriguez, the Project Manage/Sales Person nor has anyone from Backyard Company contacted me. We're talking less than 6 months after the deck was installed that we started seeing the curled boards. According to our contract, Backyard Co. and quot; agrees to warrant its installation and craftsmanship, fee, abnormal defects for period of 1 year from the date of completionand quot;. I am so disappointed in this company. I really thought we had found a company we could depend on. If you Google them, the Better Business Bureau comes up. They have had their accreditation revoked for not responding to customer complaints and not correcting customer's issues. $7380 may not be a lot to Backyard but it is to us and to think we may have to have the whole thing redone or repaired in the near future, makes me sick to my stomach. I would never use this company again and make sure anyone that I know that needs fencing or decks, not call them.

The owner of the company, John Rodriguez, is a people person for sure. He is courteous, professional, helpful, thorough, on time and has a delightful sense of humor to boot. He paid close attention to every aspect of the process and made sure that I was informed and comfortable with what kind of fence I wanted, where it was to be placed and the maintenance requirements of each option (wood, vinyl or aluminum). A few days after we ordered the fence in black, I saw that there was another color option that I liked a lot better, and John made it happen without skipping a beat; he didn't even roll his eyes. The guys who actually did the work were impressive to say the least! It took 2 guys only 2 days to install a 300+ foot aluminum fence. They measured accurately, made adjustments I requested graciously and were very careful about where they put supplies and cleaning up afterward. They did a superb job putting up my beautiful fence, paying close attention to every detail, even putting cardboard under the truck that they parked in my driveway to catch any potential oil leakage. They worked like artists, creating something to be proud of. This company builds good old-fashion trust with its clients by their actions, not just by their words, and their warranty is outstanding! I had the most pleasurable and refreshing experience dealing with this company and would use them again and/or recommend them to all of my friends and family in a heartbeat!

The experience with Backyard Company was not good. We specifically said that we wanted the fence to be 2 inches up from the ground and they didn't do it right. We tried to explain it to them but unfortunately nobody on the crew spoke English. What they ended up doing, unbeknownst to us, was that they came back with a skill saw the next day and cut the fence up from the bottom. Not happy with it at all. Don't hire them.

We could not have asked for any better service all around. From the estimate to the finished product we have been extremely pleased. We called to get an estimate on a home that we were going to be closing on in a few weeks. They were able to come give an estimate the next day. Extremely detailed in their explanation on how they install their fences. We were not sure of the exact closing date so we paid them a $100 deposit and they told us to call when we had the date. We found out on a Monday that we were closing on Wednesday. They stated to call them as soon as we had finished signing the paperwork and they would start either the same day or the next day, depending on the time. We did just that. They had a company come right out and mark all the lines in the yard on Wednesday. They showed up on Thursday to set the posts and came back to finish the fence on Saturday. They were quick on installing the fence, no panels with this company, they build the fence each individually. They even finished in the rain and snow! The fence is absolutely gorgeous! We would recommend this company any day!

From the free estimate to the finished product Backyard Company proved to be totally professional, honest and reliable. I was provided with an estimate during which time the work was explained in detail on what to expect and what was being offered. The price was in line with 3 other quotes Ihad gotten and actually offered a few 'Freebies' which does not happen too often. The workman showed up on time and proved their dedication to getting the job done as quickly as possible. They were extremely hard working and always diligent, even given the rainy days they encountered during the 4 days they worked. They cleaned up after themselves an left behind nothing but a beautiful fence. They are obviously very experienced workers who provide quality service and know what they are doing. The quality of the wood used on this project is evident and I cannot be more pleased with this job. I ended up paying exactly what was quoted with no "hidden charges" revealed during or after the job. I will surely recommend Backyard Company to anyone who asks for a reference and will always look their way for future projects.

The vinyl fencing had to be ordered and took a few weeks longer than expected to arrive. Once it did, I was notified and the crew started on the installation immediately. They completed the project on time and did a great job!

The company representative was extremely courteous and professional. The work itself was timely done as promised. The workers seemed to work together very well and were meticulous as to the placement of each board. The result was a wonderful fence on a sloped, wooded lot - a very natural looking fence that blends in beautifully with the landscaping.
