Our experience with Allxteriors was hands down incredible, they went above and beyond to create the porch of our dreams and save the day on wood rot repair around the entire back of our home. The team was professional, responsive, and punctual and we appreciated that they always gave us updates through the entire process. They even went above and beyond on the project adding additions like giving the porch have extra inches along the edges for more space, and adding solar powered lights. Just amazing! We are so happy with the final result!

Heard their ad on WORD radio....We called and met with Richard Herman. He listened and also had good suggestions....then he sent us a detailed and very reasonable quote. Work started and finished within the time-frame promised....workers were courteous and respectful and did a great job cleaning up! We were thrilled with the quality workmanship and attention to detail, and it’s also been noticed by many of our neighbors! We just love our home’s “new look!” ~Cliff & Lyla Poynter

Work was done according to contract. Weather caused some delays but was completed as fast as possible. I have done some small additional outdoor home repairs to wood and have implemented their process with great success.

Arrived on time, found the problem quickly and cleaned the debris from the gutter.  Very happy with the service!  Will use again for other jobs.

AllXteriors sent a team without adequate supervision. The owner's nephew was the supervisor but he did nothing to ensure quality.

Specific examples:
1) The workers cut corners on second floor windows they did not think I would see such as layering Bondo on a window sill in a way that resembled peanut butter spread thickly on a sandwich. It was not smoothed at all. They must have assumed I wouldn't see it but I climbed the ladder and witnessed the shoddy work.
2) Another worker replaced a section of dry rot on my front door frame but did not attempt to make the replacement wood flush with the old and it was visibly raised. I insisted they re-do it the right way and got a snarly attitude.
3) Another worker attempted to rebuild a section of ornamental wooden molding with Bondo but it looked bad.

I called  Richard Herman, the owner, afterward to complain but he stopped  returning my phone calls so I had to leave a voicemail. He switched to texting to respond and made an excuse about a sore throat.

Richard sent out his son-in-law to re-do the repair to my front door frame. He worked diligently until it was back to original apearance. His son-in-law is a good worker. At his own expense Richard purchased a replacement piece of ornamenetal molding and replaced it himself at no extra cost in order to fulfill his promise that he would return the house to its original appearance. However, the front door, one of his main selling points when we met to discuss contracting, did not look better so I eventually replaced it (using another company).

Two years later (2013), dry rot has returned to some of the window frames they repaired in 2011. Should it have returned so quickly? For $3200 in repairs I would think not.

On the bright side, his son-in-law pressure washed my deck for $250 and resuscitated it so that I could get a few more years of use out of it.

Richard herman, the owner, called me on 4/25/2013 to discuss my original review. I have since amended it so that it is not so derogatory. However, everything cited above was my actual experience.

Got several estimates, most wanting to sell replacement units.  Estimates ranged from $4500 to $6000.  Allxteriors said they could repair and seal most of the damage, but said one window needed replacement.  I accepted their written bid and they started promptly.  Chris and his crew were clean, courteous, and professional.  I observed their work and feel confident the repairs are sound.  I will definitely use them again.

I had two french doors in the back of the house, and the bottoms were rotting from moisture.  They came in and stated they could fix it, without a problem.  They also were going to paint the house and clean the windows.

When the house was done, there was paint all over the brass hardware, and never cleaned the windows completely.  The french doors that they fixed are going to have to be replaced.

They couldn't exactly match the trim by the glass, they used floor molding trim.  Rather than replace an entire section, they'd replace a small section of it, and connected it with bondo (auto body filler), and then sanded it, and it looked terrible.

We've called him several times to fix the issues, and he's never came back out. We could never get this fixed.  He's never returned my calls.
Response from Allxteriors
"We have been doing this type of work for many many years and we really try to cater to each individual need as best as we can. We were working across the street from her house when she asked us about doing some repairs to her home. She had spoken to her neighbor that told her she was very happy with our quality of work. When she contacted us, I surveyed the damages on the French doors and told her that we can repair these doors but that we would have to dig the rot out of door and fill it in with a hardener. I also said that we could "try" to cut a piece of wood trim to fit onto the edge of the glass where the other part of the frame had rotted. As God as my witness and my son, who is the foreman, was standing right there with me when I told her that it won't be a match and that we can't replace a whole section of trim because we ran the risk of cracking the glass removing trim thats not designed to be removed. We only remove what is rotted. I told her then that would not be an exact match and she said she was okay with it. I also told her that the best thing would be to replace the doors anyway. She chose not to go that route. There was a little, very little, bit of paint on the very edge of the brass. Some of it old, meaning it was there before we started working, and some new. It is correct that I didn't call her back once I realized there was no way we could make her happy but I know we went above and beyond in trying to satisfy her. We spent a great deal of time trying to fix those doors. We have many many many happy, well satisfied customers and its a shame that most of them dont report here what a great job we do.. I never lied to this customer but I do apologize for not calling her back after finding out that there was absolutely no way that I could make her happy ."

I called this company based on radio advertisements. The owner was very quick to respond to my call and provide a quote.I accepted the quote and provided a deposit upon the agreement that the work would be done within one week. However, no one showed up for 2 weeks and it became very difficult to reach anyone at the company to ask for an explanation. After several excuses, the crew showed up about 1 month later. The first day they removed the old siding and left with the area exposed. It rained that night and we then had water damage to the interior ceiling. The siding went on the next day and the ceiling was repaired a few days later. The workmanship was fine but the overall experience was very disappointing.
Response from Allxteriors
"The member called in to our office to have his repair quoted. I do try to respond quickly to each and every estimate because each and every job is important to us and the fact is that many companies never even show up. Most any time you contract a construction job with a reputable company there is a wait time due to the fact they are working on other jobs that contracted before you and then there are weather factors that can delay your start date. There are many reasons why this could happen that might sound like excuses for example: If we are working on job A and discovered hidden damages you could not originally see then naturaly it will take longer to finish therefore delaying job B. On this job we fixed everything we said we would and when damages happened due to rain we fixed those damages as well. I am disappointed that this was the first I had heard of this, I never got a call to let me know there was a problem as I really try to take care of and service all my customers."

Began work three weeks later than scheduled due to weather.  Once job was started took approximaely ten days to two weeks.  Several serious rot issues were addressed and consulted with homeowner on cost.  Work was completed and overall final work was good.  Called Allxteriors after first hard rain with small problem, they came and checked and advised accordingly.

The job did not go well. I don?t feel like they knew what they were doing, the quality of work was poor, and I had a hard time getting them to come back to finish the job. I feel like I got ripped off.
Response from Allxteriors
"We were NEVER made aware that there were any issues during or after the completion of the work. We ask for a punch list at the end of every job so that we can correct any issues that the customer may have before we ever leave the job. This customer, when asked at the completion of the job, stated that everything was great and that they were satisfied. We have done MANY jobs for this particular customer so to see this rating from her was a complete shock and frankly inaccurate."

Richard and his crew from Allxteriors performed inside and outside painting along with a complete gutter replacement and roof repairs. I found through this experience that he is reasonably priced, clear and concise, fair and delivers on his commitments. Any type of construction job is bound to create other work outside the scope of the original agreement. The workers were very careful to point out any related work that should be addressed and Richard was more than fair in negotiating the work and the associated added cost. This creates trust between the owner and the contractor. I would not hesitate to call Richard for my next project.
