AAA Carolinas - Pleasantburg

For the most part we have been pleased with the service at AAA for minor repairs. They have a nice waiting area, the staff is nice, and they are pretty good about appointment times. When they service your car, they are good about explaining why what things need to be addressed. They have a little fold out brochure that will show you what color a fluid is supposed to be and then a dab of what color your vehicle fluids actually are. The mechanic service is honestly the only reason why we have held on to our AAA membership. It is also great that they will let you drop off your car and then shuttle you to work or an errand instead of making you wait or arrange other transportation if the service is going to be awhile.
We have had two less than satisfactory (but not horrible) occasions with AAA service though. I had them do a full inspection on a 2006 Toyota RAV4 I bought last summer. They claimed the transmission fluid needed to be changed. The dealer insisted it didn't. I took it to Jiffy Lube for a third opinion and the mechanic there showed me something printed on the dip stick that indicated it should not and explained that the color was fine. Honestly I still don't really know who to believe on that one but two mechanics including the dealer claimed it didn't so I have to judge against AAA on that one. Another time involved a job they did on my husband's truck which was done properly and he had to go back and have them redo some work.
Overall its a good service. They give AAA members a discount and put a warranty on their work. I would continue to take my car there for simple things like oil changes and small electrical things, like a fuse that went out once on the A/C. But for bigger repairs, I prefer another mechanic that specializes in Toyotas and Acuras, which is what we drive.

They have been outstanding. They are very conscientious. My van is 18 years old but it has been critical to the size of my family. They are very attentive to my needs. What I appreciate greatly is that they have a lot of diagnostic equipment in the shop, and are able to hook it up and really get an inside reading on how my vehicle is performing. I needed to take the van on a 2,400-mile round trip in May, and I did need to have it tuned up because it hadn't been tuned up in 20 years. They did a terrific job, and it ran better than several would.

Told my 80 year old mother she had an oil leak that needed a new part. Took it to the dealer and they could not find anything wrong.

They are very honest. When I tell them about a noise, they take a look at it, and they make sure it really does need to be replaced. This is a new car care center this year, and I've been going there since they opened. They say that they have courteous, honest repairs, and I believe that this is true as well. They always explain to me about the parts they use, and they assured that they always get the best that they can get.
