Woke up to find AC not working in home...Called a few places on Angie's List, HVAC MD's actually called me back after I made an appointment with another service provider but I ended up going with HVAC MD because they had such a good rating on Angie's...I can see why, their responsiveness, quality of work, price and professionalism was excellent...I highly recommend...

To my knowledge, they did a good job at a fair price and worked with my tenants which is often akin to herding cats. Big Props to Mr. and Mrs. Stewart for being polite and professional throughout the process. I'd welcome the chance to deal with them again in the future.

He did show up the first time he said he would. He inspected my A/C and topped off it's coolant. After working with it awhile longer he said he thought the problem was a bad fuse. He replaced the fuse, asked for $79 (I gave him $80 in cash, not wanting to quibble) and he left. I realized within a 1/2 hour that the air conditioner wasn't the working. I called him the next day and he said he would be at my home on Monday.. We called him on Monday and he said he would be at my house sometime during the day. He hadn't shown up by the end of the day. So we called the next morning but he would not answer his telephone or return our message. We called again and left a message and there was no response. Pay this guy in cash at your own risk. Seemed like a nice guy during the time he was here.

Mickey Stewart, the owner of the company HVAC MD's (always a good idea to work with the owner if you can) had to do service on
my heating system which was failing to come on. Mickey found the problem to be dirt daubers (wasps) had made a home in my
attic heating system, stopping it from turning on. Mickey cleaned out the insects nest and got my system up and running. When the
problem reoccured a couple of weeks later, Mickey stopped by immediately and cleaned out the problem again at no charge. That's
a heating and air company I can afford!

I called him and didn't get an answer at first, so I left a message. He called me back in about 20-30 minutes, told me he was in Mount Pleasant and that he'd call back in a couple hours to make sure it was ok to head over. He called about 2 hours later, I told him it was fine if he headed over and he came over very quickly. He was in an out very quickly. He knew exactly what the problem was, and was kind enough to explain the problem and what exactly he was doing as he fixed everything. He was very polite and courteous and a pleasure to call on for a repair!

He was very friendly and explained everything he was doing. He was reasonable. The last time I used him he was an "A". This most recent time he didn't return my phone call and I had to keep trying.

Came home from Vacation and the air conditioning was not cooling, the fan was running but not the compressor. Called HVAC MD's and they cam out within two hours. Replaced the capacitor and added some Freon. Explained what was going on and what was needed to correct the issue. Very friendly and courteous. He explained how old the unit was and what it would take to replace just the outside unit and when I would need to do that.. which was not right away. My wife was very happy with the service, and how quick they were to get out to us. We will be using HVAC MD's for our service in the fall and spring. If we need to replace anything, we will have them do it. We are very pleased.

I contacted Mickey w/ HAVC MD's based on his listing on Angies's list. Our upstairs unit had filled the condensate drip pan and it had over flowed due to the water level not triggering the original emergency shut off float switch. Mickey arrived on time for the initial visit and in spite my insistance that there had to be a bigger problem assured me that re-leveling the unit and drip pan and installing a back up float switch on the opposite side of the pan that had over flowed would correct the problem. The estimate for repairs was $125.00.
We made an appointment for late Monday afternoon. Mickey was late so I had to call him. Due to unusual traffic issues which I was aware of he asked if we could re-schedule for the following day which we did. I again had to call as he was late. He showed up an hour after our original appt. was scheduled but could not complete the repair as the float switch had been used by his helper on another job w/o Mickey's knowledge. He was early arriving for the final appointment and completed the installation of the float switch. When he gave me the bill the total was lower than the original estimate and he did not charge us for the float switch due to the inconvienece of having to schedule several appointments. The discount was much higher than the 10% coupon he woud have readily accepted form Angie's List.
I will deffinetly be using HVAC MD's again. Mickey was always very appologetic with the late appointments. I feel that some of the appointment issues were related to having the last appointment of the day and the fact that our unit was operating so we were'nt in dire need of a repair.

I absolutely hate to give these guys this grade. I had work done by them over a year ago. it was great. I have now called them twice in 2011, both times they have set up an appointment with me to come by and look at my unit. Both times they haven't showed up and I wasn't able to get in touch with them. I really enjoyed their service the first time and I really wanted to continue using them, that's why I kept calling them. I literally called them a few times a month, with no luck. In their defense, I had the wrong number a few times. That doesn't change the two times I had appointments with them and they didn't show, call, or anything.

Like I said, I hate giving these guys this rating but, in my recent experience, it's all that they deserve. The guys are great and nice and professional, but they haven't gotten the job done. Now I have an appointment in a couple of days with a competitor. I went without heat and air, for almost air year, because of how badly I wanted these guys to come out and do the work for me. Take it as you will, when they did the job, they were awesome. Being without heat or air for a year is not. Barring some customer saving event, I will not be using these guys again.

I had been told by another company the evaporator coil had a small leak. Mickey showed up promptly, was friendly, explained what he was doing as he took off the unit covers (but kept working continuously), inspected and said there was no leak at evaporator, moved on to condenser and service valves. Said service valve was probably the culprit, recharged the unit, replaced plastic service valve cap with brass cap. Explained the size of leak and consequeces going forward. Very sharp, may have saved me the $1000+ to replace evap coil. Definitely recommend.

I was able to get an appointment for the same day that I called. He came right on time and was very friendly. He explained everything that he was checking and needed to add freon as my system wasn't cooling properly. My system is 19 years old, and I asked for quotes for what a replacement system would cost as I know this one won't last forever. I was surprised at the very reasonable quotes I was given for a new installed system. I would definitely use this company again.

I signed a contract with them to get the heating and air conditioner maintained for the year. They are supposed to be here sometime this month. I was completely satisfied with the work they did and it was as much as two or three quotes I got.

We learned a great deal about our current system, in fact, we were considering replacing it, but he felt it wasn't needed at this time and should last for several more years. His inspection was thororugh and complete. We'll definitely contact HVAC MD for all future needs.

The technician team arrived approximately one hour later than the scheduled appointment time due to thunderstorms and heavy rain the the area but provided advance notice of the delay. On arrival Mickey and his assistant checked the Freon level of the heat pump and found it to be quite low (3 pounds remaining in an 8 pound system) due to loose service valves and missing valve caps. They tightened the valves, added 5 pounds of R-22, and replaced the valve caps. Upon completion of these tasks Mickey returned inside and verified that the unit cooled my home to the desired thermostat setting. He then readily accepted the Angie's List discount coupon for the services performed.

After the 1st day's problem assessment, a four-person crew showed up on day #2 for the job. I began to see how a two person crew would not have been able to handle the large unit that needed to be lifted into the attic. The crew split into two, with one pair largely handling the controls and large central heat system in the attic, while the others handled the external unit and then helped upstairs. While installing the upstairs unit, they moved it to a much better location for any future maintenance. They had a very good mix of expertise, cordiality and professionalism. They accepted my Angie's List coupon for a price discount. While I lament my unit breaking-down in late June with all the heat... and sorry that I had to dip into savings to pay a necessary bill... I highly recommend this company. They have a good work ethic and are fair and honest... What else can you ask for? At this time, based on warranty info, I have confidence in the quality of the unit.

A yearly contract with them costs me $160. When they came out last, they were prompt. Three guys came out to do the work. They didn’t take very long to finish the job. They cleaned-up after the work. They did a good job. They were responsive and were good at follow-up. I will definitely use them again in the future.

Now I was stuck on a Friday evening with a tenant with no heat on a cold weekend. I found HVAC MD's here on Angie's list, and let me tell you, I am VERY happy with the entire process. Mickey took his time explaining to me the work that needed to be done. He told me that finding the parts I needed for a 26 year unit would be nearly impossible. After having the facts, the best option was to replace the heating unit. He was cheerful, honest, up front, professional and friendly. He called me back when he said he would, he gave me detailed quotes and the work was completed on time. I HIGHLY recommend him and will definitely use his services again. He's earned my trust.
