Mr Moyer went above and beyond at every opportunity. He always called before doing anything beyond what we discussed and he alway did what he promised when he promised it. Extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

We were real happy with his work and his estimate. Not only did he do my house, but he also did my shed. He comes when he says he is coming and does it for the price he says he is going to do it for. He has done us an excellent job. If I have any problems, whatsoever, such as wood that is rotten or needs fixing, he will fix it while he is there. He does not just put over a bunch of old stuff. If it needs replacing, even though it might not be rotten -- it might be that the board is just bad -- he does it. He is good for preventive maintenance as well as doing the job.

Charles came highly recommended from a trusted source, which was good because their estimate was more than $1200 below that of another well known company's. The insurance adjuster had warned me to avoid and quot;outlierand quot; quotes, so this was something which might have caused me to rule them out as a questionable risk were it not for that recommendation. Am I glad I didn't! It took a while to get the work scheduled, but on the appointed date they were here bright and early. The work went exactly as I had been told to expect. The workers were pleasant and good humored, which certainly isn't a requirement in a contractor but is definitely a bonus. Most important, however, the work was good quality. In addition to the roof, I asked Charles if they could fix a spot on the vinyl siding of the chimney, an eyesore from a lousy prior repair which I suspected might be the source of a small leak. He quoted $100 with me furnishing the siding, but when we scheduled the work he told me he had some identical siding left from work on his own home and he would use a piece of that. Not only would he not take additional payment for using his siding, but he used enough of it to re-cover two sides of the chimney, not just the one damaged slat. Charles' warranty on labor is three years, half again the industry standard of two years; even my insurance company was impressed by that. Charles does not offer an extension of warranty on the shingles themselves beyond the 30 years implicit in and quot;30-year shinglesand quot;. The other contractor, whose quote was also based on 30-year shingles, did offer a lifetime warranty extension on shingles for an additional $480. If I ever need another roof, I will call Charles' Roofing. I have already recommended them to others and will continue to do so.
