"As you know, running a small business is demanding. I have worked hard to provide each of my clients with expert service coupled with the best equipment and technicians. This client was no exception. I am sorry that this customer feels as he does. As both the owner and operator, I was present at this job site and can assure you that my crew gave full effort, as contracted. After each tree was pruned, I showed our work to the client, who was present, explaining what we did and why, before we re positioned the bucket truck, to the next area. The client was given our laser pointer to help us see exactly which limbs he wanted cut back, and to see how much he wanted removed. The initial reason we were contacted, was for us to prune an area to accommodate a large marquee/ tent for a function to be held on his front lawn. Due to the distance involved, it was agreed upon than we would be hired for a day rate. The round trip was two and a half hours of travel time. The travel time was included in our day rate, which was nine hours. ( as no additional travel time, fuel charge was made) The condition of the clients trees was very poor. Due to severe damage from the ice storm two years ago and the attempted clean-up, the trees had almost had all the interior branches removed, a pruning practice known as "Lions tailing." The branches had flushed out with sprouts, which we carefully tried to remove a third, as is the best practice for such situations. There was also significant dead wood to prune. In pruning some of the small dead wood, a small branch did hit a light fixture, which was mounted to a old pruning wound. We though that all that had happened was that the lens had fallen off, which we placed back on. After this tree was pruned, we showed the work to the client, before progressing to the next trees. It did not seem to us, that we had "destroyed" the spot light, thus it was not pointed out to him. I gather that at the end of the day,( from what I understand), the light fixture fell off it's mounting, which I feel, is the issue at hand, for this customer. In all, if I recall exactly, over ten large Live oaks were pruned, three very tall Pine trees and one large Willow oak were attended to. All the branches were chipped in our chipper and the mulch dumped at the clients burn site. the larger wood, was cut up to firewood size length and taken to the clients maintenance facility. The client feels we should have achieved more work, however I feel that with a crew of five, we covered a significant amount of work. We at Georgetown Tree services, are proud of our work, and give our very best effort to all our valued clients."
They were on time, they were very professional, he gave me advice on another tree, he suggested fertilizing my oak and did it on the spot. They cut all of the dead branches and trimmed the back so there was no problem with the tree getting into the city wires.
They hauled all of the dead branches and miscellaneous out of my yard, My yard has a lot of landscaping and they did not damage any surrounding plants.
I will have them back every time I need anything done to my trees. They were great!
