General Remodeling, Masonry Work
$300
I contract Trinity Remodeling to lay an 8 x 8 cement pad for my storage shed for $250.  I was given a written bid that stated it would be constructed with gravel, pavers and morter.  I also agreed to pay him an additional $50 to complete putting in cross posts and wire to one section of an existing fence.  I already had the materials. The work was to begin on Jan 28.  Because of weather it was rescheduled for 10 AM on Jan 31.
He arrive at 3:30 pm, dug out a one a 8 x 8 area approximately one inch deep and said he would return the next day at 10 AM to finish. He showed up the next day at 4:00 pm with two teenage boys. The teenagers mixed the cement and he proceeded to pour cement directly on the ground without using a layer of gravel, or laying pavers.  He assured me that it was OK and that it would be level, smooth and straight.
At one time, I saw out my window that he was pulling the fence post back and forth to get the cross post in.  He also cut grooves into the post and had the two teenage boys jump on it to break it apart.
When he finished, it was dark and he, once again, assured me that everything was finished, level, smooth and straight.
The next morning I went out to look and found the fence post was leaning because the anchor it was originally in had been broken, the post had fallen out of the upright post because it had been cut too short, the cement pad was rough, unlevel and the edges were not straight.
I called an left a voice mail message asking what could be done to correct everything.  I began getting text messages from him saying that someone must have messed with it and that he wasn't responsible.  I sent him pictures and he threatened me by saying "Vengeance is mien sayeth the Lord," and started using profanity.
