To begin, Nathan and his father were polite, professional, punctual, and responsive. When we spoke to them about our needs, we repeatedly conveyed we needed to use paint that would be cleanable, durable, and able to withstand a 13 year old boy. We also conveyed we had a strict budget and would be willing to choose a different service provider if they were unable to meet our requests within the budget. They assured us they could fullfil our needs using quality, Sherwin Williams paint. They strongly recommended using low lustre sheen since our walls were 20 feet tall and had some imperfections. They also stated they would speak to the Sherwin Williams territory representative to further validate they would be using the proper paint for the high traffic areas in our home. We once again told them we did not want to compromise quality for a cheaper paint to stay within the budget. We would shop around for a different contractor if needed to make sure we received what we need. They, again, stated they could perform the job at the agreed upon price using the proper paint. A week after the job was completed, we called Nathan to let him know we were having issues with the paint. We told him if we touched the wall, we were seeing hand or finger prints everywhere. Depending on how the light reflected, it look as if they were glowing. If we tried to clean the area, it magnified the problem and caused the paint to "shine". We asked him if he would be willing to come look at the problem because we had never experienced anything like this in our previous homes. Rather, he attempted to explain the problem by attributing it to the "low lustre" sheen and essentially said if we attempt to clean the wall or even touch it, it is disrupting the paint particles and changing the texture. We told him this was unacceptable since we had gone out of our way to convey we needed durable, cleanable paint. Subsequently, we called Sherwin Williams and explained the issue. The store manager. territory rep, and the district manager came to our house to evaluate the issue. They all confirmed this was not normal. The territory rep stated that Nathan never double checked with him to make sure he was using the proper paint for the scope of the job and high traffic areas. The went further to state he should have never chosen Promar 200 for our walls, especially considering we repeatedly stated we needed durable, touchable paint. Sherwin Williams agreed to reach out to Nathan to see if he would be willing to repaint some of the walls in the high traffic areas with the same color (but using appropriate paint) at Sherwin Williams expense. Nathan initially agreed. However, when we told Sherwin Williams we needed him to also repaint the wall along our stairs, he said he changed his mind and would not repaint. My husband and I attempted to call and text him numerous times to ask him to please come to our house to see the scope of the problem. He refused to respond. We are now stuck with he majority of the interior of our home with untouchable walls and glowing handprints. Our walls already look dirty and old. We are extremely neat people and do not make a habit of running our hands up and down our walls. However, one should be able to lightly touch them if needed. To make matters worse, we donated our sectional sofa to Nathan and his father's ministry for their mission team to have a place to sit when they visit. And they do not even have the decency to call us or come evaluate our paint. This has been extremely stressful and a horrible experience.
