The weed eating went fine. One issue was the provider would never give me anything showing they actually needed all of the bales of straw and mulch they estimated. Basically they said we estimated X you pay for X regardless. On the sod, I showed the guy several spots, but the big area was right behind our back steps. We Needed that area sodded. They only did the smaller random areas. I called and tried to get him to do the bigger area and he refused to do it. Instead he just didn't charge me for the smaller areas. I had to get someone else to come back and do the bigger area. I would not use these landscapers in the future. There are much better ones out there.
Response from Earth & Woods
"We made several attempts to reach out to [member name removed] after the job was completed. We were informed that his wife went into labor and we wanted to respect their privacy. We were not sure how to prove to [member name removed] how many bales of pine we laid (still not). It was a simple square footage calculation that determined the quantity. Once they're down they're down. There was obviously some confusion on the sodded areas- we will take full responsibility for that. We easily could have cleared this issue up if [member name removed] was able to respond to us after the job was complete. The sod repair ($85) was promptly removed from the invoice. [member name removed] would not communicate to us what remaining areas needed sod. We live and work in [member name removed] community and have performed work for over half of the neighbors on his street. If he would have informed us of his concerns they would have been addressed promptly. We were never given the opportunity. We apologize for any miscommunication on our end."

Had agreed on a particular start date weeks in advance to ensure I could be home. Didn't start on that day. Agreement was that a full crew will come in start and finish within a few days. Next agreed upon date came and showed up with crew of 1 saying that they had to fire the entire crew due to some issues. From there on everything dragged. Eventually work was incomplete and poor quality.
Delivery of raw material can be done but for design and installation, find someone else. Otherwise get everything in writing
including the warranty and their responsibilities. Don’t prepay or pay in full until fully satisfied.
Response from Earth & Woods
"Working with [member name removed] was a challenge to say the least. We were stretched a bit thin at the time and the work probably took longer than necessary to complete- 100% our fault. The quality of work, however was never in question. [member name removed] made several change requests during the project and was extremely reluctant to pay for them. We couldn't agree with [member name removed] more when he says to "get it in writing". The project looked great upon completion and [member name removed] hired us to xeriscpe all of his mulch beds with river rock after the matter. We feel this is an effort to slander our work over a non payment issue."

The services performed by Earth and Woods were put to the test shortly after completion. Following a heavy evening of rains, it was evident that the newly created slopes and water flow patterns worked superbly. We had dry crawl spaces and no pooling or standing water. Todd is a master with a Bobcat. Even the newly compacted dirt stayed in place; no visible wash outs!
I highly recommend Peter, Todd and Ryan. And, I look forward to resolving future landscaping opportunities with their knowledge and expertise.

Earth and woods is a family owned business. I really appreciated all the suggestions they had. They were very knowledgeable about what would and wouldn't work. The staff was very professional and knowledgeable about their product. I would recommend this company to anyone and will continue to use them.
