EQ Construction has no respect for your home or property nor your time. They also do sub-par work, break promises, and are very hard to communicate with (they often acted like it was an inconvenience when we contacted them). Over the last two years, we have hired numerous contractors for various jobs such carpeting, installing new garage doors, installing new windows, interior and exterior painting, kitchen remodeling, etc., and NONE of them disrespected our home or time nor broke promises. I have written numerous positive reviews about other contractors we have dealt with over the last two years, and never have I written a negative review, but I feel it is necessary to hopefully help spare someone else the heartache we have endured. During demo, our property was not protected as stated in the contract. We were not removing our bathroom cabinets, but they used our cabinets and drawers as garbage cans and did not protect any of the outer wood. Additionally, they threw away a custom made under-the-sink shelf that was also NOT to be removed, and left big holes exposed to the crawl space overnight. They made two gouges in our hardwood floor and ruined the finish where they put tape on the hardwood floor, left piles of dried mortar in multiple places in our landscaped area, left dried grout/mortar on our newly painted outside of our home as well as multiple places on the entrance way and left our front door entrance way a pigsty. On top of this, after 5 weeks they left us with a bad tile job that they could not come up with a solution for and the rest of the project undone—the counter top was not installed, plumbing (sinks, bathtub, toilet, shower) was not done, shower glass was not measured –although they had someone come out to measure it on two occasions both of which they could not measure it because the tile work and the shower cap work was not complete which wasted both our time and the shower glass company’s time. This is just one of many examples of what a contractor should know and this one did not (when measurement of shower glass could be done). The “project manager” came the 1st day for a short bit, left and did not return for over a week and a half and he told us before we signed the contract that he would be coming by three times a week. While there are so many more problems that occurred, the gist of this review is that this company is not equipped to do a bathroom remodel. They do not care about the customer and they do NOT reflect the name of their business. Beware if you choose to go with this company--Save yourself and your home and go with another contractor or just hire sub-contractors yourself.
