I have dealt with Comporium for a long time. My parents have used them for many years and I grew up knowing they were not so great. I use them because they are my only choice in my area. I thought monopolies were illegal? I digress. When I first moved back to the area after living across the country for 9 months I had to go back to using them. For 8 months I received a different bill amount every month, despite my services never changing. Most recently I have moved from Rock Hill to Fort Mill. Moving is not fun, but Comporium has by far been the worst of the whole process. They had to create a new account for the Fort Mill address, apparently with their system that's just how it goes, and that's fine. But the amount of trouble that has come with this is ridiculous. I had a credit on my account from the Rock Hill location and when I received my first bill for the Fort Mill address, I called to pay it as I always do and spoke with a nice girl who told me I could apply that credit to my bill. About a week later I received a voicemail from someone at Comporium notifying me that I could not use that credit from the other account towards the new accounts bill, so I would have an outstanding balance until I received a refund check from them for that credit and could then pay the remaining amount of my bill with that and that she would watch my account to insure my services would not be affected by this. 3 weeks later, still no refund check. I received a bill in the mail with a notification that my services would be disconnected in a week due to my delinquent account. I called them and spoke with them about this and the girl I spoke with (who had an attitude) assured me that there were notes in my account and I would not have to worry about my services being disconnected the next week. Knowing their history, I asked her if I needed to call next week to be SURE my services would not be disconnected and her response was, "I mean, you CAN but it's not going to make any difference because they won't be cut off." OK, fine, I trusted her. Ah, but what happened the next week? My internet stops working. I get a message from my very upset husband telling me he's having to drive around looking to find a wifi signal because he has to do his research paper and our internet is out. I called to find out why and... you guessed it! The girl I spoke with tells me that my services have been disconnected due to non-payment on my account. I explained everything to her and she said she saw the notes in my account and would turn my service back on. How nice. But any apologies? No. Nothing. Horrible customer service. She also had an attitude. So I tell her, truthfully, I never do this, but I would like some kind of reimbursement for this inconvenience, i.e. a credit on my account or SOMETHING to show me you care even a little that I'm still using your services despite how much they SUCK. She got an attitude with and asks me what I'm looking for and I explained I'm not looking for anything incredibly substantial, but something to reimburse me for my time and my husband's gas. She tells me there is no guarantee I will receive any reimbursement, but that she would put a note to her supervisor. She places my account on hold and advises me to come pay the remaining balance once I receive the check. Seriously, it's like pulling teeth with these people. I am currently looking for other options for internet and have already cancelled my Cable services with them. If you can find a way to not use these people, DON'T USE THEM.

I am not satisfied with their service. When I've been in the office, the staff I dealt with was professional, but I just don’t like the whole way they operate.

They provide good service but there is no way to try anyone else. They are the only choice I have.
