I was not sure what style of door I wanted for my shower and Nicole explained my options to me, shared pros and cons of the options, and told me a little about what was most common in a shower like mine. The price that was quoted to me in the first call is exactly what I was charged; there was no attempt to up-sell me or to charge more than they had told me it would cost.
The guys who came to template for the door are the same two guys who installed the door. They were great each time we spoke. When they walked in to the home, they both took their shoes off without being asked to, which showed me that they respected my home.
After the installation, they guys took time to make sure I understood how to maintain the door, which sounds simple...but there are some common household cleaners that can damage the door and I was glad to know that right from the start.
I will recommend Carolina SGO with confidence to anyone who is looking for a glass shower surround.

Keep in mind that you are dealing with a small family run operation where family comes first. And it seems every time I turned around some sort of family issue was to blame for the lack of follow up. First off, they designed and made the shower for the wrong side of our enclosure and we were forced into accepting the door on the other side. It actually works well on that side but I had previously angled the shoe molding to allow for the swing of the door. Now the door swings the other direction and I have a cut piece of trim that doesn't look right. They never offered to fix the molding that I mitered and now looks odd.
In addition, we paid to have the door custom cut to allow for the slight variation in the squareness of our opening. Apparently a fairly common issue. However, the door is nowhere near aligned with the wall or floor. They simply added more silicone caulk to fill the gap. When I mentioned it, they simply said that it was "fine." I'm guessing they had the door made square and saved the upcharge. Knowing later they would just add more caulk. On top of that, they never offered to refund the upcharge, either for their failure to design the door on the correct side or for the large gaps.
They were also a week late installing the door. We confirmed the install date and I took care to remove our old shower door and prep the area. But then we had to wait an extra week to get our door installed. They subsequently said that they had a family situation come up. Again, not a huge deal except that we had to use one of our upstairs bathrooms to shower. Keep in mind that if there is any blip in their extended family, it throws the whole operation off schedule. Also, when dealing with small family businesses, your dealing with all chiefs and no Indians. And no one is held accountable for service failures.
You may have a wonderful experience dealing with this family business, but suffice it to say that I was disappointed on many levels. They play-up the family business angle as if it makes them superior but I found just the opposite. Every small business is a family business and everybody who works for a small business has a family. So the family thing didn't really impress me but they were recommended by my neighbor made it sound like they got such a great deal. But upon further researching, the price we both paid was about right for the work and service performed.
Our door was was installed about two years ago. I'm writing this now because I noticed mold growing in the silicon caulking on the floor. I always thought the fit and finish was inferior and when I noticed mold growing, I called them to ask if they would come out and recaulk the seam. I had to wait three days for a return call and guess what was the reason? But during the first call, I was basically reprimanded for not caring for the seam correctly even though they never gave me any care instructions in the first place. I never had a mold problem like that before. She subsequently wanted to charge me $45 to redo the seam. Not a huge cost but was irritated by the lack of response and the superiority attitude they seem to convey. I declined the service and am going to do it myself.
Im sure they have lots of satisfied customers. I'm just not one of them.
