Palmetto Animal Hospital

I have used them for several years. They are very good. The price is a little on the high end and more than I would like to pay, but I like them.

My ? puppy was taken to Palmetto Animal Hospital on a holiday "Memorial Day 2016", my puppy is a small Yorky; she was attacked by a pitbull in our yard...this is not our normal vet. Our normal vet could not be reached on their emergency line...After calling through the phone book we lucked up and found this vet office was open. My puppy (Sparkle) was in bad shape when she arrived...our emotions had gotten the best of us, but the staff at Palmetto Animal Hospital was prepared for the challenge. Our puppy is "ALIVE" today because of them. She still has a long road to recovery but at least she has a chance and we have this staff to thank!!!

The Drs and staff at Palmetto are amazing! My dog is extremely anxious and had to be sedated for his exam. They took so much time with us and were so patient. Dr. Anderson personally followed up with me by phone after the appointment to relay test results and radiology reports and to check on my pet. I trust this practice with the care of my animals 100%!

It seems to always go well whatever the reason I have to go there.  About a month ago I had an appointment for my 15-year-old mix breed dog, named Star.   The veterinarian administered the shots needed and did a physical exam over her body with his hands.  A staff member trimmed her nails as well.  Both the Doctor and the staff talked to Star and me while doing their thing.  They always do this at every visit for Star and me.  Though Star is old, the Vet and staff always treat her kindly and gently: It makes me happy that they care.
I like it that I can pay  my bill right there in the exam room so that when we leave, I can take Star directly to the car without having to stop at the desk.

Today, I had to go there and get two refills for Star.  One of the staff spoke to me by name and remembered Star's name.  Attention like that is why I've been a customer for more than 15 years.  My wife and I have had 3 other vets in town but left for a variety of reasons. Palmetto Animal Hospital is the best for us and our little buddies.

My cat was acting strange and I suspected a UTI. Palmetto Animal Hospital was able to assess my cat promptly and treat him effectively. I was impressed by the cleanliness of the facility, the professionalism of the staff, and the smooth and informative process of the visit. for example, the veterinarian discussed all the options available for treatment and had a sheet printed of associated costs. The technician went over them with me and after consulting with the veterinarian, determined the best plan for my cat and financial situation. Additionally, they offered an antibiotic shot for the cat.... not an oral form that usually I can rarely administer the entire dose because my cat spits it out. Very happy about that! The staff were knowledgable and friendly as well. I will definitely be going back to this facility for my pet needs.

Things have gone excellent with them. What stands out to me the most about them is their professionalism. They are qualified and the cleanliness of the animal hospital is superb.

I was thankful to Dr. Gibbs for having a understanding and kind heart... knowing all to well the feeling herself. The decision was made with the help of my sister Jacqueline to let JJ go, he was just to sick... When dr. Gibbs returned I told her... and she reached to take JJ from me.... I told her that we will do this "but" I held JJ all the way home when he was a puppy and I will hold him in my arms on his way to his new home.. she said ok.. I am sure as you know the rest was painful in the heart... but while the meds was being administered to him and he was at peace.. she said some of the kindness words to JJ as well... A BIG THANK YOU TO HER! I will remember her kindness from start to finish. And please remember that the Techs other staff workers that was there and helped me was tops in the same department of love and kindness as well and are to be commended as well.. Even though this was for PALMETTO ANIMAL HOSPITAL.... I have to also thank my sister Jacqueline who is fighting cancer for going with me and helping me with this decision...she also paid for the services that day for me ... I hope this helps... this is a true statement.

We were new to the Florence area and had to get a new vet for our rescue puppy. We had just recently lost our old dog before our move so we have experience with vets and rescue dogs. The staff for the most part is great and seem to really care about keeping you and your dog happy. The exception is reception which is not. Because we had a rescue the new puppy had parasite problems and the vet had a hard time getting rid of all of the parasites. We've gone through this with new dogs before and never had such a hard time trying to get simple and common parasites out of the dogs system. This vet is also very expensive. So all in all I think they really care for your pet but may not have the experience or touch to be a great vet. On top of that they charge like a vet that is fantastic but they just aren't. Not a good value.

This isn't the first time we have used Palmetto Animal Hospital. After moving to Florence, Palmetto was recommended by friends, and my previous vet had told me to look for an AAHA certified vet in our new city. Based on the recommendation and certification, we went to Palmetto with our dog Zoe who had been ill. Unfortunately Zoe was very sick, but the staff at Palmetto was very knowledgeable and compassionate. They were able to diagnose her issue and save her from any additional suffering (they also did not put her through painful testing and needless surgery). Subsequently we have taken our new kitten, Emma, to Pametto as well as our other cat, Lily. The staff (Dr.'s and Techs) continue to be friendly, compassionate and very knowledgeable. They show a great love for animals and I believe offer a very high quality of care. I would recommend Palmetto to anyone who loves their pets and wants a fantastic vet.
