The owner was very prompt when coming to discuss the job and provide me with a quote, which was a plus. I was told it would be about a month before they would be able to start, it was more like two months. I was the one that had to reach out for communication rather than the business to me to let me know. I had hoped that the day the guys were starting that the owner would have met with me that morning to go over the start of the job, I just think that would have shown he had a real interest in the job and not just send his workers out here. We left to go out of town and my neighbor reported that the workers put lumber on her lawn and were not pleased when she asked them to move it. They could have easily put it on my patio. After they were done, she said they left trash between her yard and my yard. She and her daughter cleaned it up and picked up a huge bucket of nails that were in the yard. I told the owner of the company about the trash, he said he would be out there the next morning to check out. Of course, he didn't see the trash, because my neighbor cleaned it all up. I do see some nails that they sticking out on the gate, that should have been obvious to the workers that it wasn't right and they needed to re-do. It was also reported to me by neighbors that they were not very respectful and cursing as they were working. I am high on customer service and communication when you are doing a job for someone and communication of any issues, delays go along way. I know this is not usual to just this type job but if I can give any advise to anyone in business....just think it about how much it says for you and your company. Don't just get the job, get the money.....show that you are interested in starting the job and then checking back in physically as they are working. Don't just leave them there and count on them to care like you as an owner.
