"We regret that this customer gave us only a “C” rating especially considering the fact that she has not paid us after several months. The job and cleanup were very straightforward and were completed in one day. She has had absolutely no trouble or issues with her beautiful new roof. We have tried to contact her many, many times to resolve the payment issue and have been unsuccessful. We were forced to file a lien against her property after which this poor rating appeared. Our reputation is extremely important to us and when we don’t get good marks, we naturally want to know why. The “why” here is that she’s upset with us for filing the lien."

My wife called me at work to say the chair and ottoman was wet in the living room along with the carpet and of course the ceiling. I began calling contractors after looking on Angies List. One contractor could come out in three weeks but couldn't say when they could do the job since the northeast of Columbia was hit by a hail storm. Another contractor could come out in two weeks but the same story of not being able to say when they could do the work. Another contractor did not return my call until later. We needed a roofing contractor NOW.
Wade Culler Roofing, the Red Shirt Guys, came out the next business day. I met with Chris Baker at our home and explained the circumstances. He got up on the roof and took his measurements. We discussed a number of things, as to their process of roofing, what to expect, price, and most importantly was when could they do it. Chris informed us that they too were booked with the jobs in the northeast from hail damage but he would check with his office in the morning and get back with me.
The next morning I received a call from Chris and he said he was able to move the schedule around to work us in. Work was to begin on Thursday however the threat of weather delayed the start until Friday. The crew showed up as Chris stated they would. They were punctual, professional and hard working. They covered everything with tarps. Chris came by as he said he would and answered all my questions while his crew was there working. One week after our leak, one week after my call to Wade Culler roofing and our house was being re-roofed. The cleanup by the way was just as great as the roofing job itself. You can't tell that anyone was there in our yard or around the house. Our house is now completely done. New roof and waiting for Chris to come by so I can personally thank him.
Thank you Wade Culler for hiring Chris Baker he is a great asset to your company. And a special thank you to the crew who did the job and to Joe Pinner. Yes I listened to Joe on the media page of Wade Culler's website. Just a totally outstanding job.

"Thank you, Sir! It was a pleasure working with you!"
Overall, they did a beautiful job on the roof. The pewter color we picked out looks great on our grey siding, and the slightly raised look of the architectural shingles really makes the house stand out - almost like a new house! Also, having the ridge vent installed has made a tremendous difference in the cooling of our home - the house stays much cooler, and the A/C doesn't work as much, even in the following 95+ degree days. So I'm thankful to Chris for mentioning the (shingle-over) ridge vents - going to save us a lot of money down the road, I think!
Now for my peeves. We were assured the roofers would cover everything before starting, both verbally and in the informational brochure we received with the estimate. We noticed other roofers in the neighborhood doing that and assumed it would be a no-brainer. On our arrival home the first day, the roofers were hard at work, having removed the old roof and practically 2/3 done with the new. But no tarps were down. Maybe they removed them when they finished removing the old roof? We don't think so, as after the job was done, my husband walked around and found several pieces of shingles in the yard, and that gravelly stuff all inside the air conditioner. He walked around the house with a magnet from Home Depot (something we bought because of a previous roofing job years ago) and picked up at least 40+ nails - the long, nasty ones that could do severe damage to unsuspecting feet (and tires)! He was not amused, to say the least.
When Chris dropped off the invoice, I mentioned this to him - mostly got a blank stare back, no explanation ... curious to me. I picked Wade Culler because of all of the great reviews, cleanup included, but I do notice now an Angie's List entry for a Culler Roofing at a different address and phone number, and that contractor has not so great reviews, especially regarding cleanup. I guess I got the 'not so great' crew with regards to clean up ....
One more note - Julie in the office is a gem. She was always accessible, and answered all of our questions and was very easy to work with.
Overall, we are very pleased with the end product we received, and do feel it was a good value for the price.
"Thanks for taking the time to post on Angle's List. We are not affiliated with any other roofing company at another address. I regret that you felt the clean up was not as expected. If any portion of the job is not up to our standard we will come back and take care of it if we are notified. I do wish you had called the office to let us know. We are happy that you were pleased with the work. We always strive to be the best."

However, I know I thought it was fair.
Wade had a good crew and everything was done in a timely and a professional manner.
