It’s the only one. It’s not a regular vet, like where you would take them if they were sick. I’m not sure how I feel about the price. In addition to the $4000 we had about an additional $1800 worth of chemo to go through. I think that you have to be prepared to spend that kind of money. I know the doctors do what they can. They gave us the choice, what to do with the disposition of the dog. This was already a 12 year old, so I could understand if someone chose another path, of euthanasia; but we chose to try to save the dog, so we ended up with that kind of money in. It worked. We’re very pleased, but it’s been very expensive. I just don’t know how to grade the price. They tell you what you’re getting in to, going in, but it’s a very emotional decision. I don’t think it’s an F by any means because it’s expensive, but they ARE expensive. The treatment is expensive, the medicine is expensive. I guess an A, but I would say the cost needs to be reflective in the narrative, because people need to know. I just want people to know that your surgery is going to cost, the chemo is going to cost. The total bill is going to end up around 6 grand. The great part is it worked! It was successful, they know what they are doing. This is where George Bush took Barney the beagle. To this same emergency veterinary care. She’s great. People come from all over. It just happens to be in my hometown. You just have to know what you are getting in to. It’s worth it if you have the money. I don’t know if they offer payment plans on these types of services. They treat our pets with love and tenderness. We discovered them when a pet of ours had bitten a fishing plug, The normal veterinary offices are closed are the weekends. We discovered this place when we had an accident with the dog trying to eat a fish plug and had all the hooks in its mouth. So when we discovered the cancer with our other dog, we decided to go to that vet and we went to the right place, because they had a dog oncologist.

This is the ONLY place I would take my dogs for surgery! Everyone here is courteous and highly professional and the vets are superior!

I had to take one of my cats to the ER center as he had stopped using the litter box like he normally did and it was after hours on a Friday night. the night that I took him in he saw Dr. Turner.  She told me that he needed emergency surgery to remove a bladder stone that was blocking his urethra.  she told me that it was urgent and couldn't wait so I took her word for it and allowed the surgery. when she called me to tell me about how it had went she told me that she had found a small stone in the ureter and that she had removed that as well by making a small incision. within 24 hours my cat was doing so poorly that I had to take him back in that Saturday where his kidney levels were so low that the only option was to put him to sleep.  they don't care at all about people or their pets and it is so obvious to me that their only concern is how much money that can get out of people.  In the span of 2 days my bill ended up being over 3000 dollars.  when I called to complain about the cold way that I and my cat were treated I received a call back from their vet in charge who was unfeeling, condescending, and smug.  She spent most of the time explaining to me how she felt when her dog died and didn't so much as apologize for the incompetence of the staff there. In my opinion they were directly responsible for the death of my sweet cat and I am disgusted that they are the only ER vet center in the area.

The staff obviously enjoy working with each other, and do so very harmoniously. I would refer people to Dr. Lucas because she is so considerate.

Our pet had been triaged and was then passed on to Becky Brown. The staff like each other and work very harmoniously. I would refer other people to Dr. Brown because she is so considerate.

You get familiar with the specialists, but you are going to be dealing with the On-call people when you have a very sick pet. I am so impressed with the triage done by Dr. Corinne Goldman. She is part of a national oncology institute, so she really cares about her patients. She is staying state-of-the-art in her profession, which certainly helps to explain the expense, but they can really relieve your worries in a case like this because they are doing everything they can for a sick animal. She is an animal cancer specialist.

SC Veterinary Specialists is the city's only 24 hour veterinary clinic. They are state of the art. Medicine is really expensive and so is veterinary care, but for what it delivered, I would give them an A+. They did explain all the costs before they went ahead, and they don't make you feel bad if you don't want to commit to spending thousands. You get familiar with the specialists, but you are going to be dealing with the On-call people when you have a very sick pet. All of the specialists are under one roof, so they may not be there at the time, but within hours you'll get the phone call saying the specialist has looked at the x-ray, and this is what they say. We first learned of the clinic when a retired friend of ours had his caregiver took their diabetic dog to this clinic, and it was after hours! The staff obviously enjoy working with each other, and do so very harmoniously. They are all very considerate and very polite. Our time there was pretty much spent with the professional, rather than the unlicensed staff. This is the most money we have spent with any one supplier other than our mortgage. The care our pet and we ourselves got was superb.

They were very good. They gave our cat IVs right away and helped her get out of pain. They work with you on how much you can afford to spend on services. They do payments options over months if you need to. They treat your pets like family.

We are new to the area and I was out of town, when my wife called and said our 14 yr. old. Yellow Lab had passed away and it was after 8:30 pm.  I called Rosewood Drive Animal Hospital and the recording for emergency service gave me the phone no. to the South Carolina Emergency Vet Clinic.  The lady that answered was caring for our needs and helped out out setting up overnight storage and cremation for our beloved pet.

Our dog has had some ongoing health issues culminating in severe anemia which required a blood transfusion and hospital stay. Everyone involved was extremely helpful, professional and caring. This is not some place for standard veterinary care and it is not inexpensive but if specialized treatments are required this is the place to go.

The vet is very good. He identified an issue with the cat that another doctor couldn't figure out. He did a very good job of identifying it immediately. The cat has been much better since. They are a bit expensive.
