- My experience with Palmetto Tile was seamless. They answered the phone the first time I called and were able to fit me in. I had waited until the last minute in deciding to get the carpet professionally cleaned. The carpet was cleaned one day prior to when the movers were coming. Since they use a low-moisture cleaning method, my concern about having wet carpet the next day was allayed. The carpet had dried within two hours. The actual cleaning time was just a little over an hour for 1,200 square feet of carpet. They were punctual, too.
Columbia is fortunate to have a tile design store with quality materials, expert design and installation services, and a staff that is highly concerned about serving its customers well. I have completed over ten projects with this company and I have been very satisfied with all projects. I will continue to use their services in the future.
Two years ago we remodeled our master bathroom. The bath tub was removed and a tiled shower was installed. The contractor used an inexperienced tile installer and we have had drain problems from the beginning. The contractor's attempt to fix the problem was unsuccesful. Now we are looking for a way to repair the shower floor so it will drain properly. Because we bought tile for the original job from Palmetto Tile, we went back to Palmetto for suggestions for a new shower floor and possible referrals to have the work done.
We are waiting to get estimates at this time. Suggestion: make an appointment before you go to Palmetto. We were just fortunate that Gloria was not with another customer and could help us.
"Thank you very much for the A rating! We look forward to working with you in the future!"
When the sales rep got to me, she asked all the right questions about color and what I thought I wanted to do with the tile design wise. She asked my price point and I told her I didn't know, but that I had a limited budget. I knew my square footage, so she gave me ranges and worked the numbers. When we established my range, she showed me tile in the range. I had samples of my paint and my granite countertop, so we matched that and she laid tile on the floor with different colors, edges, trim, etc., until we had a design idea, then she did the calculations and priced the tile and I was done. They did not have enough of the bullnose and I had to use a different edging that was a higher price, so they came down on the price to match the bullnose price. They did not have to do that, and I was extremely grateful. I bought it and my contractor picked it up and we did the first project.
Then, I started on my second bath. I called, gave the color codes (I wanted the same color) and went and picked it up. That's when disaster struck and Palmetto really showed it's merit. My tile guy had just started laying the tile, but I didn't like the way it looked so I asked him to change the layout. That meant more cuts and that I needed another 3 boxes of tile. I called, Palmetto had it ready, but before I got there, they called me back. I was getting the last tile they had in my color, and the boxes were dropped and all the tile had broken. There was no more in my color run. They told me to come down anyway, and we would see what could be matched.
My sales person went out to the warehouse area and literally went through tile in the closest color run to what I needed until she found tile that was so close in color that you really could not tell it apart. We finished the project under budget and I have two beautiful bathrooms.
The staff is great, helpful, understand color and design, and will guide customers through the entire process. You could not work with better folks. The ONE caution I offer is this...they will NOT take tile and grout back. They will take unopened boxes of tile, but there is a very high restocking fee, so be SURE to get what you need, but don't over buy. Find out how much they have in stock, so you can buy more because if you buy too much, you get to keep it. They are very up front about this, so this is NOT a surprise. It's called disclosure...and I appreciate them for it.
"Thank you so much for the A rating! I'm so glad everything worked out! Just to clarify, we do accept returns on in stock tile, but there is a 20% restocking fee. Thanks again for your business AND nice comments! --Jennifer"
