First, the intake form at the desk was ambiguously filled out, leaving the technician to believe I meant a software cleanup, not hardware. I was told they would need to order the battery.
When I picked up the laptop from the cleaning, I was billed in full and told the battery had already been replaced. When I got home, the internal diagnostics showed that it had not.
When Mr. PC did order the new battery and replace it, they explained (when I picked it up) that they couldn't test it because I hadn't left the power cord. It uses a standard cord for MacBooks, but they had apparently misplaced the one they had. I got it home, and the laptop did not recognize the battery, and would work only when plugged in.
I took it back, with the power cord, and they speculated that the battery was bad, and asked me to bring in the old battery that they had replaced.
I took it back once more, with the power cord and old battery. It was working part of the time, and the technician mentioned a possible problem with the motherboard. I took it home once again, old battery re-installed, and it worked when plugged in, but when running on battery intermittently lost power. I should note that on that occasion, my wife picked it up for me, and they had not returned the powercord.
Finally, I asked for a refund on the battery portion of the repair, and my laptop cord. I picked these up, then found they had returned the wrong cord -- frayed, and with a different jack.
I finally got the correct cord, had my laptop back in worse order than I had brought it in, after two weeks and half a dozen visits, and took it elsewhere.
"Good morning. I am the owner of Mr. PC and wish to directly apologize for any hardship we may have caused in servicing your equipment. I hope that you were sufficiently refunded for your troubles. I also want to add that the MacBook Air laptops are notorious because their batteries are not simple to remove. It also seems like your problem is deeper than the battery and the technician exhausted all the options at his disposal. Again I apologize for the delays and if there is anything I can personally do please reach out to me at [email protected] - Anwar Robertson."
