They were respectful and professional. It comes with a two step process. They come and do the dig one takes about two hours. Then they come back in 30 days to do it again and follow up on what they did. After that, if you choose to go quarterly, that’s up to you. They were very not full of the contract. It’s totally up to you. If you won’t they’ll say you can call them back when you see it, very non-pressure. The cost was 125 and that was a senior discount. The other place quoted me $195. I was doing my call for the estimate and I called dial. They did it, came out promptly and were very nice. They’ll be back. The follow up is $45. The $125 is the first big one where they really saturate, they go over the whole house, under, up above and everything. I did not lift one thing. I noticed that he did. He lifted the refrigerator but then he put it back. Some other things, my mother has a lot of things around, didn’t get put back but that’s my mother’s responsibility.

The service guys that have come out for the quarterly sprays have been punctual and flexible. I personally have a difficult work schedule to predict and have had to reschedule last minute on them. The treatment is good and we rarely see bugs in our house. In the spring and fall we have had to have the serviceman come out for a second treatment but did not receive any hassle. It is understandable that bugs are going to happen in these seasons. Last year we had the pest treatment done in the backyard. I was amazed at how effective it was. We have approximately a half acre and last summer was very rainy and buggy, my wife was constantly spraying herself with off if she had to be outside for long. After receiving the yard treatment my wife hasn't had to spray ourself and the tiki torches went unused. I still can't believe how well it worked. Overall we have been pleased with the services of Modern Exterminating.

I continue to have the same pest problems as before the treatment.  As matter of fact I'm seeing more live bugs then died and the spiders are still in their web that I saw before the treatment.  So I'm killing both water bugs and spiders manually.

When I called the company to inform them of the continued pest problem and their solution was I move to their quaterly treatment despite it being less than a month since their last treatment.  I explained I had annual treatments for seven years prior to using them without any problems, however my prior pest man had retired. 

Their customer service rep indicated the excessive rain had increased pest issues.  I decided to give them another chance and retreat my home, but that appointment was a no show due to miscommunication between two technicans.  Their customer service rep was generally responsive in communicating and referred me to a supervisor after the no show incident.  But I got his voice mail and decided not leave a message.  I'm going to take it as a sign and find another company to more effectively rid my home of the bugs and spiders.


*Update:  The manager sent me a letter after reading my review on Angie's List to apologize and try to make things right on the pest service.  He offered to redo the pest service for free, however I had since retained another company for my pest services. I kept the letter with the intent to respond, I eventually did a couple months later.  I explained that I had another company performing the service to my satisfaction.  He again apologized on the poor service and asked I keep them in mind in the future.  I said I would because of his effort to correct a mistake.  I later used them for my termite bond service at a discount and without any issues.  I'm doing separate review on this service.

The appointment was scheduled for three. The provider came at 6. She is always late and always has some BS excuse for being late. It takes forever for her to spray because she talks the whole time. She asks a question and then won't let you answer because she never quits talking.

For example, one year, the inspector told me I needed new vents in the basement/crawl space to keep rodents out. So I bought them. When I still had a rodent problem and called a wildlife expert, he said the vents were no good and had to be lined with wire to keep rodents out. This year, the inspector told me I needed some work on my insulation. The guy they sent over to my house quoted a ridiculously high price and then told me he would do it and quot;off the booksand quot; for half of what Modern would charge.

They are good people. We have a contract with them. They do an annual termite inspection. We have a bond with them. They will treat our house if they find termite damage. They have a good reputation in the community. The service technicians are friendly, and respond to you. We had some squirrels and rodents in the attic. Modern Exterminating Company recommended a specialized exterminator that came out, and took care of that problem for us. They were very helpful in helping us to solve that problem. We have utilized their services for the past 5 years.

They are very good and show up when they say will. They do an excellent job and are courteous and thorough. My first application for a yard my size was $100. The contract overs from April to October; after the initial treatment the price is $60 monthly. The treatment is very effective; last summer we could not even sit out in the yard but this summer we have enjoyed it very much. The gentleman has always been very courteous and when he says he will be here at a certain time he is here. I will use them again in the future.
