Lee was (is!) a joy to work with. In 2007, when I was looking for a house to buy, she found properties that fit my wish list and my budget. She patiently taught the home-buying process to this first-timer, and when we found the house I wanted, she expedited every inspection and every bit of paperwork.
This past year, Lee was the agent we chose to help us sell our parents' home. This was complicated by having four heirs to coordinate with in the estate process, but Lee's understanding of the situation -- financial and familial -- smoothed the path for getting the house on the market. She worked closely with all 4 heirs -- which was above and beyond -- and always did what was best for us.

I used Lee Monk as my real estate agent at the recommendation of my cousin who is a well known Columbia professional. I am glad I did. Lee Monk went well beyond the call of duty in all that she did to find me a new home. In contrast to some real estate agents I have encountered in the past, she never pushed any property on me that I did not like. Once we sampled a range of properties on our first meeting, she developed a sense of what I liked and from then own, she hit home. Indeed, I tried to buy (but someone beat my to the punch) two properties that she showed me before casting a bid for my new house. I was living in New York at the time and waiting for a bid on my apartment before I could place a bid on the two properties I saw and wanted to buy first. Regardless, Lee negotiated with the relevant real estate agents for those properties as best she could and finally I got this wonderful little house which is within my price range and in a perfect location. I was so pleased with Lee's dedication and her wonderful way of dealing with me and my demands, that I asked her to manage my house while I was away on a Fulbright award to Canada. The sale of my New York apartment was delayed as a result of sloppy handling on the New York real estate side. Lee went to bat for me to ensure that my New York Sale occur (while I was in Canada) in a fashion that would allow me not to lose the S.C. house. She talked to my New York lawyer, handling lose ends there as ell as things in Columbia. I will be forever grateful for her services and recommend her highly and without reservation, EXCELLENT.

Lee showed us areas of Columbia that might be a good fit for our needs and personality. She suggested some homes on the market that were well within our price range and suited our needs for space and location. She was an excellent person to work with because she was quite knowledgeable about the community and understood our requirements for a home.
