King of Painting

First, Mr. Richardson painted a bedroom ceiling a couple of year ago and did a great job. So we had him give us a price on painting the kitchen & dining room (no ceilings). He quoted us $200, but we did not get it in writing (our mistake). He and his son came to paint, did a lousy job (did not prep window sills, just halfway painted over chipped paint, painted door frame but not the hinges that should have been painted, kitchen french door but did not clean all of the paint off of the panes, did not paint the wall corners where paint had chipped where one room adjoins another, etc). My husband was home with them and did not look over the work before they left. Kenneth told him upon completion of the job that we owed $250, and my husband said he quoted us $200 which Kenneth said he did not. We paid him the $250 and when I got home and saw how poorly the room and window sills had been painted, I called him because I thought maybe they actually were not finished (1 coat of paint). He apologized and said he did not look over the room his son painted and said he'd come back either that night or the next day and fix the work. He did call that night and said he was tied up on another job. Howev, Mr. Richardson did not return the next day, and we have not seen or heard from him since.
