Homewood Hardwoods is a full service hardwood flooring company that does exemplary work in refinishing, installations, and repairs. We honor the trade. I started many years ago with a 9 year apprenticeship in Asheville, N.C. My learning grounds were 100+ year old homes. We are owner operated and never use subcontractors for our jobs. My crew members are my apprentices. We specialize in commercial grade finishes; the very best products on the market. We have expertise in Oil modified urethane and stains, Swedish finishes, and waterborne finishes. Our machines are on a vacuum system that filters any sanding dust down to 2 microns. In short, we are the cleanest, care the most about your floors, maintain the highest work ethic and standards, and provide our clients with the most potential and durability for their hardwood floors. I found Homewood Hardwoods on Angie's one evening and called the number thinking I was leaving a message that would be picked up the next business day. Within moments Johnny returned my call, and he was actually able to meet me for a walkthrough that evening. He explained a couple of options that were available for my floors and answered any and every question I asked about each option. In a short time he sent me a quote. The Swedish finish is more expensive than the polyurethane that so many others use, but it's a top shelf finish, 5 coats are applied as opposed to 3 which makes it more durable, so I decided to go with it.
I needed to have the work completed by a specific date but not start until after a specific date, and Johnny was very accommodating. The job started and finished precisely when I needed it to.
The finished result exceeded by expectations and is worth every penny. My floors are gorgeous. I had no idea they could look so good. The entire time Johnny was in regular contact with me and even sent photos of the progress to me. I highly recommend Homewood Hardwoods to anyone who has hardwoods that need some TLC.

"I'm sorry to hear the issues you've stated in your review. I had no idea of these concerns, as you never contacted me and only complimented us on the installation work when we were finished. I'm surprised you're having issues with dust over a year later, when we installed a pre finished flooring for you and only cut end pieces in one small area of your home. Everything was vacuumed up really well and we even helped you place your furniture back. It's also interesting as your job billed in under $4,000, with over half of that being your flooring material costs; not $5,000. Interesting? I found Homewood Hardwoods (Johnny) on Angie's List and sent an inquiry one evening. Almost immediately I got a response and was able to set up an appointment for Johnny to assess my floor and provide an estimate. As promised, he provided the proposal that evening and we agreed on a day to start the work. Johnny arrived when he said he would and worked by himself for three very long days and got the floor finished. Throughout the process Johnny asked about the details of the stain color, the shoe moldings etc. He clearly when out of his way to make sure I got what I wanted.
I am extremely pleased with all aspects of the job, plus Johnny was a pleasure to work with and a really nice guy. I would gladly recommend him to anyone needing to have the floors redone. He is a craftsman that obviously takes pride in the work he does.

I was lucky enough to find Johnny, of Homewood Hardwoods. He took the time to answer all my questions. He was professional in every meaning of the word. The most impressive quality that I saw was how you could just tell that the man loves what he does and takes pride in his work.
The work that he did required that my family and I not be in the home. He indicated that at the most the work would take 3 days. He finished in 2!! When I came home for the first time I was able to only see the stairs as the finish was still drying but when I finally got to see the hallway I was blown away.
My experience with the company was top notch and I would certainly recommend him to anyone that is looking for honesty and superb craftsmanship.

Our floors had been refinished several years ago, they were discolored, rough and poorly done. We don't remember who did them last time but we were told they had to be a light color which we never liked. To make things worse, the sun reacted with the previous finish to create an orange tint and we had distinct lines where the rugs were. We had an idea of the color we wanted but no actual samples on the red oak. Johnny looked at our furniture and listened to what we were saying. He pointed to a clock in our living room and we agreed that it was the color we were after. He mixed the stain - never uses premixed colors. It came out perfect. We had no idea what was possible. Our floors are now beautiful! We never imagined that they could look so good. It is hard to describe just how happy we are and what a wonderful experience this has been.
Thank you Johnny for renewing our faith in contractors. We are so used to people not doing what they say they will do, not being dependable and doing sub par work.
