Response to my initial call was prompt, courteous and professional. Written estimate was clear. Installer showed up on schedule and installation was satisfactory. Final billing was consistent with the estimate. There were no unwelcome surprises.

One-year service contract was included in the purchase price; to include two checkup/maintenance visits, one at the beginning of the A/C season (spring) and the other at the beginning of the heating season (fall). Held off on the evaluation to see how they'd perform on that part of the agreement. The "spring" visit took place in early August, after my late-July telephone call. The technician arrived at the appointed day and time, represented his company well, did his work professionally and told me what he had checked, what he had found, and what he had done. It was not his fault that he was several months late.

Scheduling of paid-for maintenance visits is an administrative function and is one of several things that can reflect the culture of a business. The value placed on a customer after the check has cleared is what makes the difference between an "A" business and a "B" or "C" business. If I were to separate their installation performance from their maintenance-contract performance they'd receive very different grades. Would I use them again for installation of a new system? Probably. For a maintenance contract? That's another matter altogether. No individual or business can be perfect every time but, based on this experience, I have some reservations.

They are very thurough and professional. They found an issue wth the HVAC system and explained the repair and replacement costs (very expensive for either), but I chose not to do either and have not had an issue since the service a few months ago.

It went great. After a bit of haggle on the price, these guys did a first class job. They were on time, did more than I expected, went out of their way to make sure I was satisfied. I've been doing business with Comfort Services for over 20 years and will continue to do so.

We have been customers of Comfort Services since they were Total Comfort. We bought a heat pump from them approximately 22 years ago and they've serviced it under warantee and service contract since. There service has been very good. They were very professional and did quality work. With this in mind, we wanted to replace the heat pump and got a quote from them. We got prices from a couple of dealers and replaced the unit through another company. We were shock at the difference in price!!!! Comfort Services was $3,000 (yes, $3,000 not $300) higher than the next lowest competitor. We bought a Trane unit and pricing was apples to apples. We purchased the exact Trane unit (by model number) from a local dealer with a large staff of technicians and a reputation for quality service (not my brother-in-law or a fly by night outfit). After doing business with a company for 22 years, I expected far better treatment than that. I think they took our long term relatinship for granted and assumed they could charge us an exorbitant price and we wouldn't go elsewhere. Consequently, they lost the business and I wouldn't ever do business with them again or recommend them to anyone!

Comfort Services installed a new heating system in our home. They were very attentive to detail. They discovered a problem that we didn't know we had, which saved us a lot of money down the road. They were a pleasure to work with.

Can't say enough good things about these guys and this repair call. On one of the coldest days on record for our area, I called to see if they could help a neighbor in need who's system was not working and did not have enough money to get it repaired. I know they were backed up and would be working well into the night, but they were very understanding and made the time the same day to help out someone who really needed it. The neighborhood pitched in to pay the cost. Everyone on the staff from the person who took my call to the technicians who worked in freezing temperatures was great. They quickly assessed the problem and had the parts on the truck to fix the problem. The technicians were very friendly and had a great attitude even in the freezing temperatures and having worked all day.
I use them already for my heat and air maintenance and will continue to.

The service technician arrived on time, evaluated the system and gave me the prognosis on the heat pump. I was aware that it was not functioning properly. He provided a detailed estimate, we agreed upon a date and he returned and spent the entire day rebuilding the system. He was knowledgeable, efficient, and completed the work. To date, the system functions efficiently and money was saved because a replacement system was not necessary. I have been a satisfied client of Comfort Systems for two years and have been pleased with all aspects of communication and the work provided. They take pride in their work.

From the beginning of scheduling the appointment this Company was very friendly and professional. The technician arrived early and proceeded to check the ac unit in our restaurant. I had been told that the ac unit needed to have Freon put in it, but after the technician from Comfort checked it he found out that it was simply dirty. He cleaned the inside condensers and went up on the roof to check the outside condenser. After checking it he informed me that it was in very dirty state and that I could clean if myself and save some money. He was very friendly and professional. After a few hours the AC unit maintained a temp. of 96 degrees but later went up to 99 degrees. I will call them Monday again and let them know that it hasn't changed anything really.

Comfort Services ripped out all the non-functioning and poorly functioning one-zone HVAC system that was installed in our sstory and a third house when it was built only 8 years previously. The original had "soft" flexible duct work held up to the rafters with rope/tape which constricted air flow and caused the original heat pump motor to die three times!!! After consulting several HVAC contractors and listening to their solutions and costs, we chose Comfort Services. Their cost for this new system may have been higher than others, but we got quality work and a properly functioning much-needed 2-zone system. Rigid ductwork was installed, with baffles, along with a new heat pump and computer controlled system. The workers always showed up as scheduled. They worked swiftly and efficiently and cleaned up after each work day. They were professional and accommodating. They were in and out in short order having done a very satisfactory job!!! Several times they returned to make adjustments with the baffles so that we would get the air flow wanted in each location throughout the house. Would most definitely recommend them - they know what they are doing and we are happy campers!

My air conditioning unit stopped working one night so I gave them a call. The technician asked me some questions and walked me through some troubleshooting steps over the phone, at no charge, to see if I could get it started myself. Unfortunately, I couldn't get it working so I made an appointment to continue the troubleshooting and repairs.
The technician showed up early and was extremely friendly and professional. He diagnosed the problem, a failed condensate pump, and told me how much it would cost for the repairs. I was amazed at the price because the cost was 1/3 of the price that another company charged me to install it originally. He didn't have the part with him but showed me how to keep the unit running until the part arrived. Once the part arrived, the work was completed and I haven't had any other problems since.
From start to finish, this was a great experience. I definitely will continue using these guys for future servicing and repairs.

I was told by another friend about Comfort Services being an honest company. Our home heating and air conditioning system had been serviced for many years by another local company who almost regularly would tell us something needed to be replaced and purchased every six months. It got to a point where our family was feeling like we were being taken advantage of, especially when they said another major repair was needed urgently otherwise our home would be out of air conditioning in days in the middle of a hot summer in Columbia, SC. Comfort Services inspected our heating and air conditioning units and reassured us everything was working fine. They were right-our heating and air has not had any problems. We terminated service with the other company being saved several thousands of dollars. Comfort Services has been reliable and trustworthy so far!

I called on a Saturday morning and spoke with an answering service that informed me someone would contact me immediately. After waiting hours, I called back and canceled my my appointment and hired someone else. I received a call from Comfort Services an hour later saying they were on the way. After some confusion, I realized he was with the company I asked to cancel, but he came anyway. They ended up doing the work. They did a good job, no complaints. They had $109 fee to diagnose which did not include any labor time.

We let Comfort Services know several months later that we were ready to have those repairs done. At the time, they said they would honor the original estimate. It took them several weeks to get back to us to make an appointment. When they did, the technician came out for about 5 minutes on August 22nd, and said he would call us back within a few days with an estimate. I said I had been told they were going to honor the original estimate of $250, and he said that was only for one part of the work. I was skeptical, but wanted to hear what they would say. We have not heard from them since, and are therefore looking for a new company to service our heating and air system. I recently found out this company treated my brother the same way two years ago when he needed his entire unit and ductwork replaced - after regular maintenance on that home unit for years, Comfort Services just never called back, so my brother found someone who wanted his business, and we will do the same.

I called them out to do service on the unit. The technician arrived the same day that I called. When the technician blew out the line he discovered that the line was disconnected and he repaired it. I had to call them back the next day because the condensor was still leaking in the garage. The new installed a different p-trap, explaining that the one that was installed was the wrong one and was acting as a vacuum and causing the liquid to back up in the drip pan resulting in the pan to overflow and not drain properly. He replaced it with the correct one and charged me for the new pvc ($8). Overall pleased with their prompt response but would have been happier if the first technician observed the problem that the second tech found and fixed it while he was out.

Comfort services installed a new Lennox heatpump in June 2010. They provided a good price. Install went well, they left with a proper cleanup. I required a service call on 7/30/2012. Tech arrival was prompt. No immediate problem was found but the unit had lost refrigerant and was not cooling. Tech refilled unit to get it running and suggested I schedule a leak test. Test was performed by the same tech on 8/2/2012(not sure why it wasn't done when he first came). Leak found and part ordered(unusual place for leak, factory solder joint required replacement of filter/drier,part covered under warranty but labor and refrigerant not). Same tech performed repairs on 8/3/2012. On 8/6/2012 unit was not cooling again. Another (different) tech was dispatched and found another leak (factory joint again, this time on high side of compressor). Tech repaired solder joint and thoroughly checked system for further problems, found none. All is well at this time. As for the first tech,he is relatively new and still atttending school for hvac. He is well versed on theory and data. Although I feel he accepted the first leak as the problem and didn't look further, experience will remedy that oversight. The second tech had the experience. Cudos to Blake, and to Comfort Services. They promptly handled my situation and did not charge for the recall services and repairs(thanx,Dave). Thanx also to Chris(Hi this is Chris with Comfort Services), Angela, and Jason, all professionals with compassion for the customer.
