Great. I initially hired Archedeck since they were one of the few companies that specialized in decks AND hardscapes (I had both). Although they are a little more expensive than other companies, it is worth the price. Archedeck did a fantastic job from the design and construction of a unique and solid deck and an adjoining patio The deck (still not stained) is fantastic and I have had many complements. It is very well built. The patio was also well done. The workers were all professional and cleaned up after the job. I had a few issues (they were minor and related to the massive rain the day they finished the paver installation), but Archedeck had them fixed very quickly. They were also great about doing some additional final touches once most of the deck and pavers were installed. Overall I am pleased with the product and the quality of the workmanship, and all the workers were great to work with.

I just had to write and tell you how delighted my wife and I are with the screened porch and deck. They started earlier than schedule which was great for us. The contractors was courteous and polite. They did an excellent job with the porch and deck. When I had a minor issue they came out and made the correction quickly. My porch is the envy of our friends and the neighbors.

Archadeck did a fantastic job with our outdoor fireplace!  The project was challenging as we wanted to add an attached wood burning fireplace with a custom built enclosed large screen tv cabinet to an existing patio.  Our home is in an executive neighborhood on a golf course so the quality and workmanship had to be exceptional and they were.  We have been extremely pleased with our fireplace and enclosed tv cabinet.  I would highly recommend Archadeck.

When we started thinking about replacing our 15-year-old deck, we wanted something different, on a larger, multi-level, more user-friendly scale.  We met with Archadeck and together worked up a 3-level design that included a seating area, dining area, built-in outdoor grilling area, and gas firepit.  Construction was top-notch and the crew was professional and helpful through the entire project.  When we have family and friends over, they are wowed....as are we.  Archadeck exceeded our expectations and I highly recommend them.

The process was smooth and professional from estimate to punch out.  I got three estimates from different companies.  Archadeck was the highest estimate, but the detail provided in the estimate and the knowledge of the staff led me to have a much higher confidence that the job would be performed as described.  This turned out to be a good choice.  They handled the permitting, they expedited the approval from our HOA after I had submitted an application and didn't hear back, and they started when they said they would.

There were a couple of things that came up during the job.  I had painted my porch prior to the project in order to have new paint behind the new aluminum framing.  Some of the woodwork got marked up during construction and Archadeck went an purchased matching paint and touched up at no additional cost.  When the framing was complete, the transition between the new and old work was not pleasing to the eye.  Archadeck purchased, installed, and painted crown molding to make the transition appear as though it had been part of the original house design.  Again, at no additional cost to me.

I had a punch list inspection with our project manager, but I could find nothing to list that needed attention.  I work in the construction industry and enjoy working with contractors who take pride in the quality of their work, they are a joy to work with.  Archadeck is one of these contractors.  I am happy to have chosen them for our porch project.

We meet with Mike Rue several times prior to singing the contract.  Mike took me to several projects to see the quality of work provided.  Archadeck had the plans drawn up and pulled all permits from the county.  The project started on time and the workers were prompt every day and cleaned up at the end of each day.

Through out the project I would talk with the master carpenter on site every day.  He told me that if I needed anything to let him know.  He even gave me his personal cell phone number.  At the end of the project my punch list was only 2 items.  I think the main reason for that was the day to day contact with Joe the master carpenter.  If I saw something that I think needed to be done we talked about it and worked it out.  Mike, Marshal and Tucker were also very easy to work with and did what ever they needed to do to keep the project moving smoothly.

Very happy with the outcome of this project and my wife and I (along with our cat's) use the screen porch on almost a daily basis.

I was told that the job would last approxiately 2 weeks.   It ended up lasting 2 months.   It started on Halloween and someone was there finishing up on Christmas Eve.   The owner was never there to check up on the work that his contractors were doing (when they showed up).   The 1 contractor that was working the job would start around 9:00 - 9:30 and then was gone for the day by noon.  But that was only on the days that he showed up at all.
The owner Mike hires some scetchy contractors.  Mike called me several times trying to track down his contractor, who never showed.   He ended up being in jail.  Others looked like that were picked up on the side of the road, holding a "Will work for food" sign.
Every time I called to get a status on when the job would be done I was told that he would get someone else out to finish it.   Then never happened until mid December.
I would never recommend this company.

"Archadeck of Central SC has gone through many changes since this work was done. Mike Reu has been joined by his son Marshall and his grandson Tucker. Much more effort goes in to the vetting and managing of the subs doing the work, and we now focus significant effort on both starting and finishing jobs on time. Sincerely sorry for the bad experience you had and we are focussed on continuous improvement to make sure our customers get the service they deserve."

The owners of Archadeck of Central South Carolina are a pleasure to work with.   They sat down with us and helped design a custom deck.   They made good suggestions about both materials and construction  so it would meet our needs and look great!   For example, to enable access to the storage areas under the deck and to allow a cantilevered section at the back,  steel flitchplates were used for strength and to span distances.
The craftsmen employed were highly skilled and dependable and the owners of Archadeck provided consistant and helpful supervision.
Many of our neighbors walking by tell us how good the deck looks and we are enjoying it immensely.

Mike Reu's company built a back porch for us.  It is a thing of beauty.
I wanted to surprise my wife and needed a short turnaround.  Mike agreed and (almost) delivered.  The porch was built and looked great when my wife returned from out of town.  The undone parts related to trouble getting an electrician to install the lights, fan, and outlets.  If I had pressed harder, I think it would have been done sooner.
I would call him again in a heartbeat.

The work started in November of 2011, with one man doing all the labor.  He was very professional and has done excellent quality work.  The project did take longer than originally anticipated for 3 reasons; weather, the construction worker has family concerns that required him leaving in the mid-afternoon each day and sometimes required him to be at home (this was not a problem for us, as we had no specific time-line to complete the job), and there was also about a week where he had to finish a previous job.  Time was given after completion of the work for us to live with the deck for a couple of weeks before sending in the final payment.  That was delayed as we were waiting for some paperwork from the contractor before finall payment was made.  We were not pressured by the contractor at any time, and communication was generally good (i.e. we didn't have to call several times to find out information - our calls were responded to in a timely manner).  Overall, we are wonderfully pleased with our new deck and porch flooring.  It's a vast improvement in quality and appearance over what we had previously (which was also composite material that had warped, as well as the lap band pulling away from the house).

The end product is good - a beautiful screen room with vinyl 4 track windows on 2 1/2 sides, drywall in the corners and the 1/2 wall and ceiling.  However the process of building it was very slow - nearly 3 times as long as estimated.  The carpenters were inexperienced with interior work and finishing.  We had them replace a patio door with a french door and it was painful for my perfectionist husband to watch.  My husband actually removed some of the large screws they had put in the frame and replaced them with finishing nails that night. The roof rafters had to be torn down and replaced once, the vaulted ceiling took 3 tries before we were satisfied.  The wooden steps were built, then torn down and rebuilt so they didn't direct rain into the room.  They took so long to finish that we did the final painting and installed the floor molding ourselves rather than wait for them to come back on their time to finish it.  The carpenters also left their trash (soda bottles, lunch bags) and cigarette butts outside every night in the yard so we had to pick up after them since our yard is not fenced and is seen from the street.  Some of the subcontractors were excellent - the electrician, the brick mason, and the gutter installer.
