"Customer called in said the unit was broken and did not want to pay our diagnostic charge. We did indeed perform the maintenance service on 5/1/19 on their 20 year plus systems. The systems were maintained well obviously or there would of been several mechanical issues through the years. The Customer refused to pay the diagnostic charge of $69 which is company policy after almost 5 months that we had been out for service. The office staff explained to them that if it were a maintenance issue with the systems it would have became a issue long before almost 5 months."

The Diagnostic of $69 pays for an experienced technician to access what may or may not be wrong your heating and air conditioning system. Upon arrival our technician noticed that the air conditioning system had not been maintained in some time, he found the air filter very dirty, the outdoor condensing unit very dirty and full of leaves and other debris. The technician spoke to your husband and went over these concerns that to truly diagnose the system it needed to be cleaned, your husband did not agree that these were necessary steps in order to check refrigerant levels. In our professional opinion it is very important to have good air flow across the evaporator coil and the condensing coil before a true refrigerant pressure reading can be possible. The homeowner stated another company had just been only adding refrigerant which in our opinion is a waste of the homeowners money if the source of the leak is not found and repaired. The homeowner also stated that they were having two other companies besides us to give them another diagnostic and instructed our technician to just put everything back the way it was. We have never just added refrigerant to a system without making sure the refrigerant charge is tested without the system being thoroughly cleaned first. In short, the homeowner was charged only for the $69 diagnostic fee which was fully explained to the husband before we came out and we firmly stand behind our diagnosis. Thanks, Air Necessities"
