I really appreciate Robert's expertise and assistance in explaining how things work in an air conditioner for renters who really don't have experience with it. I also appreciate him doing a thorough check up on our AC unit for this rental property so that we don't have any issues in the future. It is always a good idea to have them on call if any such issues arise in the future. I appreciate Second Wind and Robert so very much!

They always get an A in my book. Everything is top notch with them, that's why we keep them. I've never had any problems with them. They usually send one technician.

Thomas S. detailed the issues, provided options and installed the option we selected with Art G. The service was professional, detailed (really) and a good process. I was given updates on what was happening and the time involved; take a while to finish when you have to recharge the whole system, and that was a great touch. We have been with 2d Wind (Cloud 10 membership) here for 3 years and our other home for over 10 years. I take great comfort knowing I can call and receive exceptional service when I need it. Great company, excellent service and part of the community.

They were so nice and did an excellent job! He went back 6 months later to check on the status on the air conditioning unit. I haven't had any problems with my AC since!

Was quoted on phone prior to visit for diagnostic time. Technician charged me the diagnostic rate for the entire duration of his visit PLUS the labor for the job he did. The functions he performed were for labor only as no parts were necessary. My bill for his 2 hour visit to screw down a loose wire, clean an orifice in the unit, and check freon levels was $505, $250 per hour. After paying the bill, I called and spoke to the technician's supervisor. He said he was going to look at the tech's paperwork the next day and let me know what he found. Had to leave him two further messages over a day or two to get a return call. He left me a message letting me know I was overcharged $119 and a check would be sent "within a few days". I waited 10 days, no check. Left three messages requesting a return call, no response. Called main office number this morning and was told "they are doing year end inventory and that might explain my calls being not returned". Was told that a certified check was sent on 12/27. It is Jan 3 and no check (we live within 20 minutes of their shop). Not sure I believe that check has actually been sent. Was advised to give the mail a couple more days... The upstairs unit is still operating the same, no warm air, out $505, and waiting for a check they say is on the way. And if they do year end inventory and should need to be non-responsive, they could at least mention that in their voicemail greeting message. Will not use these guys again.

I would summarize my experience with this company as following a downward spiral/trajectory. I signed up to have a service agreement with them so that they came out a few times a year to check my unit and service as needed. After being satisfied with their work for a few years, I eventually added a rental home to the service agreement.  Initially, I was quite pleased. They consistently sent reminder emails or calls to help me keep up with when it was time for my home to be serviced. They always informed me of recommendations and would tell me of repairs that were needed immediately and of those that could wait but that might be needed in the future. The two negative experiences I had were:

a) When my rental home needed to be serviced, they apparently had trouble contacting the tenant who lived there at the time. Since the home is rented through a management company, I had no knowledge that they were having trouble reaching the tenant. I felt they should have contacted me after not being able to reach the tenant, but they did not. As a  result, the appointment for them to service the AC unit was finally scheduled much later than it was supposed to be completed. ln the time that the service appointment was pending, a problem developed in the attic of the home where the AC unit was located. Ultimately, I ended up spending a lot of money for repairs that likely would have been identified much sooner if I had been notified that they were having trouble setting up the appointment to get into the home for maintenance. No, I don't blame them for the problems that ultimately cost me a lot of money, but I do think they should have informed me that they were having trouble gaining access. I could have set up the appointment to meet them to let them in the home myself and possibly prevented the costly repair.

b) On another visit, the service technician removed a brand new air filter that I had inserted. I typically buy the more expensive filters that last several months. He replaced it with one of the standard filters that is less expensive. Then, I saw him put the new filter on the vehicle that he was driving instead of discarding it in my outdoor trash bin. Since most of their service technicians throw the filters away immediately, I assume he was going to use it for his personal benefit. I could have informed him that I saw him, but I am not a person who likes to be in situations of conflict or disagreement. I just decided that  rather than create a potential uncomfortable situation, I would let things be, but I decided not to renew my service agreement. There are too many good companies out there that do the right thing to tolerate such inappropriate actions.

In summary, I had mostly positive experiences over multiple years. However, I ultimately decided to take my business elsewhere. You can be the judge.

Not only was 2nd Wind's quote lower than other companies, but they also included a year of maintenance with the price.  I was able to get a programmable thermostat and a $500 visa card for installing a new unit (this was a limited promotion, not sure how often this happens) included in that price.  They also had a lot of great financing options so I didn't have to pay for everything at once.  I will mention that there was a little damage done to the plaster on my wall when they removed the electrical panel to replace a breaker.  When I mentioned it to the technician, there was zero argument about it.  They sent Ricky Carraway (Residential Finishes) to patch and repaint everything at no charge.  I don't see him listed on here, but he did a stellar job and I am planning to use him for other painting projects in my house.  So, if I could give 2nd Wind an A+, I would.  Their top notch service has earned them a customer for life!

I called 2nd wind for an inspection of my ductwork because my home was feeling moist after the heavy rain in early october. I was reassured the ductork had "no issues" ( I have this in writing). A month later, the problem has gotten worse and I have thousands of dollars of interior damage due to the moisture. I got a second opinion and a huge portion of my ductwork had come unattached and I had been pulling wet/fungi crawlspace air into my home for over a month becuse of 2nd Wind's poor/false inspection. When contacted to see if they would work with me Mickey Lauder said no. When I did let him know I would be contacting BBB and Angieslist, he threatened to sue me for slander. In summary, not a company I would trust with my home or around my family.
