Bill Farah was the Sales Representative and coordinator of our installation. He was outstanding. Before the installation at mid-month, he made himself available to answer any questions and to prepare us for what happens during the installation. He recommended against high-cost items that we didn't need. There were some issues with our ductwork and we had several "hot spots" in the house. All of this was corrected - and had been discussed before the purchase. There were no surprises during the install. Bill provided the paperwork to submit for our energy rebates. We were made to feel most valued as a customer!!
Bill was onsite each day of our install to answer any questions, teach us about our new systems and ensure that we were satisfied and comfortable. The technician who installed the thermostats took time to teach me the programming features and to answer any questions. The installers were knowledgeable of the systems that were being installed and were very patient with my questions. They were polite and professional, taking care to protect my flooring and property as they trekked through. They were so quiet that I hardly knew where they were! The equipment is working well so far - 2 weeks in. The hot spots are gone. We now set our thermostat on a comfortable 80 - 82 degrees while it is in the humid upper 90's outside. I'm going to get rid of the space heaters and box fans.

They have always done a good job for me and I pay $300 yearly for the maintenance agreement. The gentleman who runs the company is a college friend of mine that I have known for a number of years and I just let him do the work for me. Their pricing is very good and fair; he usually gives me a pretty good deal. They do excellent work and will be here within 24 hours. They are very responsive and punctual; if they tell me they will be here that afternoon, they will be here. They are very professional.

They were great. The technician who did the work went above and beyond. He designed a raised stand that was bolted and cemented in. I asked him to match the skirting of the stand with the house, and there was some miscommunication with the job and pricing. We decided to put in living fence instead, which is a wire fence. Once plants starts growing in, it will look beautiful and was within budget. They were very good in communicating with me. They gave us a lifetime warranty on the compressor as long as we own the home. They were just a really good company to work with!

The technician came on the day that I called them. They were very professional and completed the work quickly. When they came to replace the unit at our home they covered my floors and left everything ad it was before they came. They returned a few days later to check everything and to make sure that we were satisfied with the work. We felt thst their prices were comparable to other companies. We will definitely use them in the future and I have recommended them to a relative.

I have not had any problems with my heating and air conditioning since it was installed. They came out one time to fix something that I believe was with the manufacturer. A few weeks ago I had to have a serviceman put 2 lbs. of feon in it. So I have had good luck with the product.

Wonderful installation. Installed the whole system (which was upstairs in the attic) in no time. No mess, no anything negative. And the price was the lowest of all the bids we had received for the product.

Job went extremely well from beginning to the end. You could tell my consultant, Bill Farah and this company
knew their stuff and did advance planning for the job. They brought different
people to do electrical wiring and gas lines, duct placement and assembling the systems and everyone communicated
with me as the job progressed. The original estimate was the final price, too.

Ryan was there exactly when he said he would be even though we live outside of Charleston in the country.
He spent a good amount of time checking the system over. The only slight issue is the clarity of their service charges and planned maintenance. Didn't quite understand that. Other than that, I would have Ryan do my service work in the future.

Quote process was very professional with options and prices fully explained. Installation crew arrived as scheduled and seemed competent and efficient. Follow up inspection was performed the next day. I was very satisfied with the process and performance.

Our heat-pump AC was occassionally failing to start when the temperature in the house rose to the set level on the thermostat. I called Terrace Heating and Air because they had done a check and maintainance on a separate split unit used in a separate room. That was a good experience so I called them when this new problem appeared on the house heat-pump.
The technician arrived the day after I called as scheduled. Using his instruments he quickly identified the main problem as a bad capacitor, replaced that and the contactors which I had noted were pretty badly eroded and test the unit to see if the starting problem was fixed. It was.
He asked how the unit was working (this was during the hot spell when we had 90 to 95+ temperatures every day). I told him that at the hottest part of the day it could only maintain a 12 to 13 degree differential from the outside temperature. He said it should be better than that, checked the refrigerant level and added a pound. He then found that some of the coils were badly pluged and spent considerable time on a thourough cleaning.
Finally he noted that the unit was pretty old and suggested I not spend a lot of money on maintenance and repair because it is not going to last to much longer.
The work was excellent, the technician was personable and professional. Overall it was an unusually good experience with A/C repair people.
The only negative in my mind is that the charges for the parts replaced, contactor and capacitor came to $270.00, and I'm pretty sure the parts could be bought on the internet for $100.00 plus or minus.
Other than that, great experience. I would not hesitate to use Terrace Heating and Air again.

I don't know if Terrace Heating and Air is any better than anybody else but it was a nice experience. I thought that he did very well and I thought they were good. He was very thorough, so I was happy with him. The price was comfortable to other air conditioning places and he was very professional.

We have been using them for an odd number of years. They are competent. They have good integrity and reliability. They have a service program. They do a Spring and Fall tune up for $100.00. They come out and clean, check the freon, and go up in the attic and check the air handlers. They are thorough and professional. They have a good product and service. We recommend them to everyone we know. His prices are the going rate. It feels kind of expensive to me, but they are inkeeping with what's going on.

They replaced both parts when the fan didn't need to be replaced. They did not tell me that there was a service charge and I had to pay the labor part of the service agreement.

On October 13, 2005 I had a new Heating/AC heat pump unit installed by Terrace Heating and Cooling. The order was for a Tempstar unit and included a 1 year labor and 5 year equipment warranty. In January of 2006 the unit malfinctioned and a different service company was mistakenly called. They found that after 4 months the condensor was freezing and the system was not going into defrost mode. They had to replace a circuit board. On 2/10/06, now only 5 months old, a service company had to again be called. Once again I called the other service company. They found that Terrace Heating and Air had failed to install the heat strip in the attic unit. I tried to discuss this with Terrace, but their statement was "how do we know the other company was telling the truth." At that time it was noticed that while I had paid for and told I was getting a Tempstar system, the attic unit was actually a Freedom unit. When I expressed my confusion with Terrace, they told me that Freedom was the same as Tempstar. I called Tempstar and was told that yes, they make Freedom, but that it was a brand name shipped to the western part of the US. No one has yet been able to tell me how a unit made for the west coast ended up in my attic on the east coast. There has also been ongoing issues with the noise level of the outdoor units. On Sunday, 10/7/07 the attic unit had dripped a sufficient amount of water into the house to ruin 2 walls of drywall, a light fixture, ceilings and water under the flooring. In thinking about the past issues with Terrace, I called the other service company to repair the unit. That service person found that the pvc piping put in by Terrace had not been glued together and so had come apart and was dripping into the house. By that time there had been 3 repairs to the unit, 2 of which involved shoddy workmanship on the part of Terrace Heating and AC, and the 3rd repair on the equipment itself, equipment that no one can explain how/why it is even in my attic and which was not what was quoted to me or what I was told was being installed. The damage caused by the latest problem cost me another $793. Terrace Heating and Air have refused to pay for any/all of that expense incurred by their, undisputed, failure to glue pipes together. I contacted and /or attempted to contact the company on several ocassions. At one time they scheduled an appointment, an appointment for which I had arranged for a repair contractor to be there at the same time. However, Terrace chose not to show up for the appointment, or to contact me to say they were not coming or to reschedule. It was unreasonable, and unethical, for Terrace to refuse to be responsible for their actions. I have documentation supporting all of this.
