I asked him for an extended estimate to do the entire house and I never heard back from him. We used him to get him to do work for the house and he actually contacted me first. He didn't do anything. He didn't charge me anything. He just gave me an estimate. He came out to see what kind of work we needed and we extended that outside of the $149 because we needed more work done. He was going to write me up an estimate, and I never heard back from him. I have his card so I'm going to try to call him again. Except for the followup, he was great. He was very friendly and very knowledgeable. Neither one of us had followed up on our meeting. He made the first point of contact and he just failed to follow up, and I failed to chase him.

He did food work when he did come, but we had a hard time communicating, he would be running late or. to show and
just didn't pick up the phone to notify me

Things started off great. I took a chance after reading over 20% of his reviews were poor communication and all the issues, which he swore things with his company had changed...YEAH RIGHT!!!. He started off in February and was efficient, helpful and did good work. We broke the stages of the projects out and he got busy so I was understanding when he delayed things and made his excuses as to why he couldn't work at the house . He did, or should I say his worker Mark did a great job on our back deck even though he never really cleaned up the yard. I could live with that. But then he had some "personal" issues and I made a BIG mistake by advancing him the money for the paint job back in late March. He promised he would get to it this week and he has disappeared. Wont answer his phone, email or texts. So BEWARE!!! he's a good talker but schedules poorly and will run off with your money. I'm out $3,000 and stuck trying to find someone to paint my house last minute. I plan on suing him for the money advanced.

Everything went great. They arrived on time. They took their time making sure everything was done correctly. No problems at all. No mess at all. Quality work. Actually received some quotes for other jobs around the house. Will definitely use them again and will recommend them to others.

I bought a "Big Deal" on September 22, 2014 from Simmons Construction. It was for 2 hours of work for $99. Mr Simmons contacted me about scheduling work and I told him that I was going to buy a large tv around "Black Friday" and that I wanted him to wall mount it for me. He said that was fine. I told him I would call or email when I had the tv. I tried to contact Mr. Simmons starting in early December to get the job scheduled. He responded a few days later that he was out of town due to an employee issue. I told him "no problem" and that I would contact him in a couple of weeks. I messaged him on December 30th. about setting up the job...he responded that he had let all his employees go due to all his tools being stolen while he was away on another personal crisis. I then asked for a refund and he said he would give me one. I gave him all my information and that was the last I have heard from him. I tried to contact him in mid Feb. to see if he might o the service since I hadn't received a refund but no response. I feel as though I have given him every chance to make good on the offer I paid for.  This was my first Angie's List purchase and I am quite underwhelmed with the results.

The guy came and he repaired the places and he said it will be 24 hours before he could apply another coat and then sand.  He said that he could come back at $75 an hour.  So, I still had the places in my house that never had a second coat put on it and did not get sanded because I don?t want to pay him $75 an hour to come back and do this.  I felt like when I got this thing, I was caught in the middle of it.  He came out and placed the first coat on and then I will have to wait for 24 hours and charged me for the second coat.  I felt that it was rip off.  

I just did not like the fact that he knew that we had to wait for 24 hours before he will do the second coat and the sanding and that he will charge me to finish the job.

It went very well. I would not hesitate to recommend Kevin Simmons. We followed every stage of the complex, work requirements and Kevin proved to be informative and the ultimate professional. He arrived on time, cleaned up the area of all debris upon completion and his rates were the most competitive of all estimates. He provided us with all the information  in regard to the materials needed, schedule and construction requirements. We were very pleased with the outcome and will use  Kevin in our future projects.
His work was so good that one could not tell where the new shingles were added on the roof in relationship to the older shingle construction.

Excellent! I will be calling him again & would recommend him to anyone.

A pleasure doing business with

Due to the providers' personal commitments with family he had to delay the work from mid November to date as shown of 12/10/2014.  There was no updating of a given time he would be available.  He promised to give me another estimate 24 hours after 12/10 for other work.  Have not heard from him since that date.

It turned out great! I spent probably a thousand dollars more than the Big Deal price. They did exactly what they wanted and then I said I wanted some more too so he did more work. I like Kevin's eagerness to please the customer. He was double checking with me with everything he did and just about every time, it was as good as I expected. I already recommended him to 10 people I know.

I didn't want to write a review on this company but the pop up every time I visited Angie's List was getting on my nerves. I rolled the dice on this one! I wish I would have taken the advice of some of the reviews. Mr. Simmons and his team arrived as scheduled and looked at the areas I wanted repaired. He gave me a quote of $1600.00 for labor, then proceeded to ask for money up front for materials which should have been my first red flag. Once they started the work, I noticed the siding was not lined up and flushed with trimming which left LARGE gaps. They cut a lot of things too short and VERY UNEVEN AND TRIED TO COVER A LOT OF IT UP WITH TONS OF CAULKING WHICH THEY DID A POOR JOB OF! I mentioned some of these issues to him and he seemed to get a little upset and seemed to be in a rush. I asked Mr. Simmons for a receipt and again he seemed to be in a rush and I NEVER got a receipt. I WAS VERY UPSET  at the quality of work that I DID NOT call them back to fix ALL the issues they left and were aware of. I know for a fact they were very aware of ALL the areas on my home they screwed up and just DID NOT CARE! They left TONS OF NAILS in my yard too. I thought finding a contractor through Angie's List would mean the work done would be top notch, but boy was I wrong. I had two other construction companies come out to my home since to review this company's work and to get quotes on repairing it and they both said that they did a very poor job and that a lot of the work looked rushed and not done properly.One of the companies took pictures and quietly laughed and shook his head because he just could not believe some of the work he was looking at. I worked very hard to earn the money to get these repairs done and I DID NOT get what I paid for! They took my money and I don't think they cared. Also when they were on the roof, they discovered a hole in the roof and promised to repair it. I JUST FOUND OUT ON 1/09/15 THAT THEY LIED AND THE ROOF WAS NEVER REPAIRED. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.

Daniel of Simmons Construction arrived promptly and in a professional, cordial manner completed all the tasks for the work required. We were quite satisfied with the quality of the work and overall professional behavior as well as his friendly commentary on future repairs.

Finished work and quoted me a price for sanding and painting trim/eves.

Had to come back several times and redo their repairs as they weren't repaired correctly the first time.

Came yesterday at 8 am, free estimate and said they could come the next day to work on it.  They came today and finished by 11:30 the entire project.  I will be using them for other handyman work to my house in the future.

Mr Simmons and assistant arrived on time and got to work immediately.  They completed the described work on time and in a professional manner.  Mr Simmons impressed me with his technical knowledge (especially with regard to the kitchen circuitry which had been misinstalled years ago). He worked briskly and efficiently, obviously comfortable in his work.
My one reservation relates to his seemingly casual attitude towards scheduling.  He was a "no show" for two appointments, probably reflecting his practice of making arrangements through his cell phone while working other jobs rather than having some "back office" person record calls and prepare his schedules.
I will always use Mr Simmons for requirements requiring skill but which are not particularly time-sensitive.  He is a quality worker. I
hope that, somehow, he can resolve his scheduling difficulties.
