Mr. Higgins and his team are true professionals with great attention to detail. They did far more than I expected! They are a bit pricy but you get what you pay for. If you don’t have a very nice lawn and only want some grass cut every couple of weeks it may not be worth it. But if you have a lawn you’re proud of and you want it to look its best, these are the guys to call.

Leonard Higgins is the owner/operator and he met me at the rental property.  We walked the property, told him what I wanted and he promised to give me a quote shortly.  A man of his word, Mr. Higgins timely provided the quote and when I accepted his bid, he and his crew performed the work neatly and very much to my satisfaction.  Would I recommend Omega Services for yard work?  ABSOLUTELY!  Will I use them again?  ABSOLUTELY.

Also had Mr. Higgins provide a quote for summer lawn maintenance.  His price was very reasonable in my opinion and it is rather a large yard, however, the tenants want to maintain the yard themselves.

Bottom Line.  If you need a yard service, based on my experience with Omega Services, you can't do any better than them.

I left messages for 3 different companies on Angie's list. It would have been clear on the message that it was not an easy job. Omega is the only company that responded and they did so promptly. Mr Higgins removed very heavy wisteria and dug out roots of plants that were hanging on fence and almost pushing it over. He did this without damaging the fence that was already unstable at best. After the job the area was totally picked up. There was not even a leaf left behind. I was out of town when the job was done but the quality was so good you might have thought I was looking over their shoulders.

I have known Leonard Higgins for over 10 years and know him as a man of integrity and great character. He has always been fair with price, is dependable, and is incredibly knowledgeable about plants that are best for the Charleston climate. Not only does he had a great maintenance department, but he also is very good at landscape design.

I contacted Omega Services because I was unhappy with 2 large garden beds I had. Lorapetalums (sp?) and African Irises had been planted down the entire length of my house but they were put in too close. Now several years later, they were too large to attempt to move myself but I worried they'd start to damage the foundation if they got much bigger, positioned where they were. The entire garden design was ill-conceived, badly laid out and the beds were very uneven. They sloped and dipped in multiple places. Over the years I'd made the mistake of trying to cover up the problems by adding more and more plants. I think I was going for an English garden look- artfully messy flowers growing all together. However my beds didn't look artful at all. They were a hodge-podge of various mis-matched plants and overall the beds were lumpy, too crowded and too busy. Mr. Higgins and his assistant arrived at 8 am and got right to work. They very carefully took out all the plants, making sure not to damage the root-balls. They amended the soil and graded the beds so they slope away from the foundation. The only time they stopped working was if I asked Mr. Higgins a question or his opinion on where to plant something. Though I know it was a distraction, he patiently answered all my questions and even walked around the yard with me offering suggestions as to what might grow best and where it should go. He's incredibly knowledgeable so I wasn't at all surprised to find out he has a horticultural degree.
Once they had finished preparing the beds, Mr. Higgins helped me select which of my MANY plants to put back, which ones to move elsewhere in the yard and which ones to simply let go. I had a plan in mind how to arrange the beds, but after hearing his ideas... well, his were much better than mine so that's what we went with. And it looks fantastic! It changes the whole look of the house and is 1000 times better than when we started. Another thing that impressed me was how accommodating Mr. Higgins was. I kept thinking of extra jobs while he was there (putting down mulch, etc). I expected him to say he didn't have time that day, which would have been fine. But he didn't object and he managed to accomplish almost everything while he was there. He came back the next day to finish a small edging job. I have never met more hard-working individuals than Mr. Higgins and his assistant. I was surprised how reasonable the cost was, especially in light of the caliber of work they do. I'd have no hesitation hiring Omega Services again. As a matter of fact, I plan to hire them for other landscaping jobs in the near future.
Response from Omega Services
"I thank Member for her review.I don't mind stopping and speaking with clients because it makes my job so much easier. When I speak with any client it gives me a better idea of what they really want from thier landscape. My experience over the last twenty-five years helps me to give them the results they want. I always tell my clients that they are the ones who have to look at the results from day to day. It is my goal to make them happy well into the future. I strive to make every job wether big or small my best ever. If I would not be happy with it in my yard it won't end up in any clients yard."
