Extremely well. The movers -- Frank, Taylor and Derrick -- were professional, courteous, good humored and very efficient. Everything was moved carefully for a good price. They did both packing and the move itself. We retained the storage unit separately. We'll use them again after the house is complete.

Movers and Groovers damaged every piece of valuable furniture that we owned. Our bedroom furniture has pieces gouged off and damage to every piece..triple dresser, armoire, both nite stands and a chair. Our dryer top has multiple dents and is also scatched. An antique picture dented, an antique lampshade dented..both beyond repair. They delivered, after having stored our belongings for 2 months from an environmentally controlled storage, a chair to my dining set that is COVERED in MOLD and my the top of my entertainment center is also warped beyond repair. An expensive dining cart also is damaged along with other chairs that now have gouges and scratches on every single leg. A large decorative mirror has a chunk missing out of the frame.
Now on to the MISSING items all from the master bedroom closet. My sewing machine and all of my sewing stuff, boxes of mementos, boxes of buttons, an abdominal wrap, a basket containing 4 purses, towels, and hooks that were on the doors.
We purchased their "GOLD" insurance plan for the move and have had ZERO success with the owners Ronnie Fulmer and Matt Doescher and their office manager Chris. Apparently, they can't get their stories straight..Chris told us a claim was submitted..Ronnie and Matt say they want to handle it in house..To date NOTHING has been taken care of. Our estimate to repair and replace is over 2K. Not counting our missing items which Ronnie and Matt said.."don't worry..they will show up sometime." ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! I left out a missing glass top which they said "oh, the movers probably broke it and didn't report it to us.". Not that it would matter..
IF you value you possessions DO NOT USE Movers and Groovers..
I also have learned we are not alone..but WE will do everything we can to warn people. They ignore your emails..promise to email or call..and they DON'T.
We have also reported them to various agencies because we just don't believe anything they say OR that they should be allowed to continue to operate their business to unsuspecting consumers without awareness and oversight. The magnitude of the damages by Movers and Groovers is devastating, the magnitude of their indifference is criminal.
Feel free to contact me, we have pictures, as do they, of the damages their company caused.

When I first called, I spoke to Chris. He assured me that Movers and Groovers could help. I wasn't sure about getting someone on such short notice.
The next day Calvin and Evan arrived exactly on time and got to work. They were very pleasant and professional gentlemen, and fast workers! Packing was done in 3 hours (and it would have taken me several days). Most of that was heavy reference materials and books on the second floor. If there was anything they weren't sure of, they asked.  And they worked hard - they didn't take a break at all. After the packing was done, they went straight to the storage place and unloaded in about 30 minutes.

I was pleasantly surprised about the cost, given the short notice. Having assistance with packing, loading and unloading was absolutely worth it.
I would definitely use this company again. In fact, we'll probably get them to help move everything out of storage when the time comes.

We should have more cautious when they had plenty of avalability when other moving companies were booking weeks and sometimes months in advance. We used them before without issues so we didnt think to much about it. Since our move I was notified that my bank that checks were being written from my account with signiture not matching. This was a backup bank account that we never write checks out of so the checkbook Never leaves the house. The end result, one of our checkbooks was stolen. Also, fraudulent charges started posting to our credit card. Beware of hiring. I've already contacted the authorities due to this theft. If you do hire them, don't take your eyes off them and make sure they swipe your credit card in the office vs giving the number to the crew.

"Wow. This is news to us. No call has been made to Movers & Groovers with these accusations This is the first we are hearing about it on a social media network. If we promoted that behavior we would not be in business. We would like to discuss this more. Please give us a call at 843-225-9051"

I typically would not wait so long to submit a review, but honestly I felt it was better that I did so to give myself more perspective. Moving is never easy and I wanted to be as fair about this as possible.  The folks at Movers and Groovers were very kind to work with and I felt that it was only fair of me to be honest in both the positives and negatives of our experience.

As stated earlier, the folks at Movers and Groovers were very pleasant to work with both in office and moving staff.

Our house sold and our closing happened very quickly and they were not intimidated by the short time frame that we had to work in. It was also extremely hot during the week of our move and although it was an evening move, I felt sorry for these poor guys struggling in the humidity and heat.

On the not so positive side, we have had quite a few residual effects from this move some are miniscule and really expected to some degree with any move (nothing is ever going to be perfect..dinged floors and walls, oddly packed items).  Others not so much and continue to weigh on me today.

1) Due to the fact that our sofas and chairs were not covered and the above mentioned heat, my living room recliner has been thrown out and my sofa (even though cleaned now) still shows the remnants of the move.  Unfortunately, the cushions were all carried in uncovered and under the arms of the very hot movers...it is micro suede so the stains have been difficult to remove, it too will have to be replaced as soon as we can manage....suggestion would be to make sure all fabric (mattresses, cushions, etc) is covered.

2) We are not wealthy people by any stretch, but we do have a few items that have been passed on to us of value that I felt could have been handled better. The bottom of my grandmother's 75 year old chest of drawers was broken off when placed in our bedroom, a standing jewelry chest was carried in upside down so everything inside was tangled and dislocated, expensive purses thrown in the bottom of a wardrobe box with loose wire hangers. Grant it, some of these things are not the end of the world, but perhaps taking a little more time and thought in packing and unloading. Unfortunately the dresser was the largest casualty in the set.

3) We still have missing items (this is probably my biggest issue and why I write). I had hoped if I waited long enough surely they would turn up somewhere, but unfortunately six months later that is not the case.  My children's beds still sit unassembled in my son's room because we have not been able to locate the screws and pieces to reassemble them. What do you do with beds you can not put together...you cannot even give them away.  We have finally been able to locate the manufacturer and for almost $70.00 they will send us replacements....ugh...I would really love to know where those things are. Also, we have a drawer missing from our dining room table.  Why this drawer was removed and none of the others is beyond me.  I kept thinking we would find it in the bottom of a box or an armoire, but obviously that has not happened. Again, we have a table that could never be sold or even given away because who wants a table with a irreplaceable drawer? Of course the drawer was also full so we have also lost all that held. :(  Where could it have gone?? Nothing was left on the truck when my husband did the last check of the back.

Anyway, I have felt very mixed feelings towards my review. I appreciated them working with our schedules and their positive attitudes and I did feel sorry for the guys in the heat. Would I use them again? I am really not sure.  I wish there was a "maybe" button above.  Perhaps for a smaller move or if I had the opportunity to pack things myself and simply have them move and we had more time to oversee what was being moved and how. I know that it must be very difficult to find good and trained movers, but...when you pay for professionals I would expect a little bit more knowledge in how things should be packed and moved especially in dealing with antiques or valuable items.

I had  damage to my furniture from incorrect loading.  A heavy file cabinet was loaded on top of a custom table without padding.  My  expensive chair was destroyed. The movers were fast, and that is all I can say.  They arrived 3 hours late.  When I contacted Movers & Groovers I was given the " run around "and told I would be contacted.  I was told to file a claim from their web-site.   That claim was returned to me unopened.  I sent a second claim certified mail to another given address.  It was received by the Mr. Doscher.  I would take this company to small claims court, but cannot find the county where they registered.  I would appreciate any help on this matter.

"We are licensed. Movers are required to be registerd and regulated by the state. The office of regulatory staff website is where you look to find regulated movers. We do the best to protect our client furniture. No claim has been sent to us as we would have handled."

They quoted me one price and then charged me double after.  I explained what rooms we had and the owner felt sure that cost w/ the number of guys and a truck would be fine.  They never came to look at everything.  Which the owner explained afterward that he "did not have time to come look at every house because he is too busy".  When they arrived they knew they were understaffed and not equipped enough w/ just one truck.  It took two days instead of one!  Plus they were not told to bring packing items I requested.  Long story short, they charged me double what they quoted and said that is just how things are done in the moving business.  On top of that, the owner was the worst arrogant jerk I have ever spoken with!  Too bad because the guys moving us were very nice, although they broke our antique dining room table and secretary.

The gentlemen all showed up on time and did a great job packing our furniture.  Once the truck was completely full, they made their way to our new home and did an equally great job unloading and placing the furniture where we specified.

Moving crew showed up, on time, ready to work.  After discussing the possibility of one truck not holding all of my goods they had a second truck and an extra man on hand in case.  Didn't use the extra truck, so I wasn't charged for it.  Was charged for the extra man which helped the move go faster.
These guys are exactly what their name says: "Movers and Groovers!"  This was my 18th move (retired Navy) and I've never seen a moving crew work as hard and fast as they did.  The crew leader told me to sit back and relax; they were going to take care of me, and they did exactly that!

We were scheduled to move my mom to assisted living on 2/12/14 but an ice storm was barrelling down.  I called several moving companies to see if we could do a same day move and Movers and Groovers could accommodate.
Herb and Justin arrived on time and ready to load.  They were polite and took care to load the truck carefully.  They loaded up in about 90 minutes and were at the assisted living facility before we were.  Everything was set up as we requested and we were very happy.  Only one thing was broken and that was something that I did not think needed extra care.
All in all we had a great experience.

This is the third time we've used this company for moving, and though the other two times have been great, this was perhaps the smoothest and most pleasurable experience yet. Aaron called to confirm the date and time two days ahead, and he, along with Morris, were prompt, even a little early. They were cheerful, efficient, and even gracefully put up with some unnecessary hassle from some of the condominium owners on the Columbia end. They were quite careful and there was no damage to any of the furniture.
I recommend this company, and especially these two men.

They were very professional and worked INCREDIBLY hard!! Once they got to our new house (with hardwood floors) they were QUITE careful with our furniture on our hardwood floors so as not to scratch them.
I don't think I've EVER seen 2 men work so hard in my life, NON-STOP!
I would definitely recommend them!

They tried to cram everything into a truck that was obviously too small.  They tore 2 leather chairs. a leather couch, 1 fabric chair and a fabric couch.  Scratched and dented other tables and chairs.  Complete disregard for our possessions.  We were given the run around when trying to get them to repair all of the damage, and eventually just gave up.  DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Two guys showed up, on time, as scheduled, and went right to work moving all the furniture -- including an oak armoire and a queen-sized bed -- out of our house in Wagener Terrace onto the truck. Then they followed us to Mt. Pleasant and waited while we paid for a washer dryer set so they could load that on the truck. They followed us to the apartment and unloaded everything --- up 27 steps with no elevator on a very hot, humid day. They did it all of that in about 3 hours. Nothing broken or scratched. It was an easy move because of them. Very professional, very efficient. They knew what they were doing, and we were moved into the new place by noon that day.

Major job.  Four-man crew: 14 hrs day one, 6 hrs day 2.  Team was experienced, courteous and as good as we've ever seen. No damage to items.  No damage to house.  Impressive all the way around.
