Originally was supposed to start the job on 1/6/14, which got moved to 1/8 then rescheduled for 1/9 around noon. I had no problem with this as I understand that things come up in this business and things get delayed.
They showed up on 1/9 after 4pm, with no call/text/email letting me know that they were going to be that late. I wasn't home because I informed him that I had to take my wife to the airport at 3:30pm. His guys worked for 2 hours and left. They came back the following day on 1/10 only about an hour later than estimated and finished the work needed to prepare for electrical work and granite installation (completed by Eugene's Granite, highly recommended). Check of $1450 was given to Trey.
Trey texted me the night of 1/9 and said, "Electrician will be there around noon. I'll touch base tomorrow when I have a more accurate time." The next day came around and I had not heard a word from Trey. The electrician shows up at 3pm with no heads up. Luckily I was home. What was expected to be a 30 minute job took 4 hours. It was done right so I was happy with the service, but NOT THE COMMUNICATION.
Granite is installed on 21st and I contact Trey to have the drywall guy come out on the 22nd. The drywall guy shows up only 25 minutes late this time (I'm fine with 25 minutes late, not 3-4 hours). The drywall guy comes in and looks at the job and goes to Lowe's (5 minutes away) to get supplies (1 sheet of drywall, mud, and corner bead. He is gone for 2 hours. I call Trey and he says "Yea, he called me a while ago and said something came up and he will be back tomorrow." I told him politely "don't bother, I will find someone else to do the job." He says "No problem" and immediately hangs up on me. Very professional Trey.
The best part is the next day his drywall guy shows up to "finish the job." Trey's communication is so bad that he didn't even let the guy know not to come back.
Trey I don't know how you stay in business. You need to work on you communication skills. Maybe you can use all that money I gave you to take a class on bussiness/communication skills.
"I would encourage anyone reading this speech to not only read my reviews but also read the reviews left by this particular member over his time at Angie's List. You can't please everyone. On a positive note I would like to thank Mr Scheidler for solidifying something that I have been struggling with in an attempt to make the client happy. I will no longer be entering in to a contract with a client that thinks he or she would like to play contractor. That includes scheduling, hiring of sub-contractors, etc. I offer a full service, comprehensive, turnkey approach to my profession and will only be offering my services as such in the future. Thanks for the feedback Michael."
Mr. King set up our installation for Saturday afternoon. They arrived with the new attic ladder and in an hour and a half our new attic ladder was installed. The installers were knowledgeable and very pleasant to be around. They knew what they were doing and we are very satisfied with the work. We will call on them again when the need arises. Thank you for a great job.
all regards. Mr. King returned our initial phone call within a matter of hours.
He and his masonry supervisor met with us the next day. They gave us a cogent
and credible worst-case scenario for what structural problems we would find and
how they would proceed to repair it. They provided a detailed work scope and
estimate within two days (including having backtracked to find the original
brick supplier and confirm availability of materials). Their estimate was not
the lowest, but it was the most credible and offered a maximum worst-case
limit. We accepted the estimate.
Work was started on time and was completed on schedule. The
work crew was on time every scheduled work day, worked extremely hard and
effectively, and were very careful about not damaging brickwork that was not in
scope and general care in maintaining cleanliness of the work site.
The masonry supervisor visited the work site daily and Mr.
King visited very frequently. When we requested a last minute change to the
brick landing pattern, agreement was reached within and hour, the plan was
modified and work proceeded in a timely manner with no additional change cost.
We highly recommend King Construction, LLC, for major
construction projects ? from repairs and renovations to original home
construction. We were extremely pleased with the entire project and association
with the team.
