JCPenney Styling Salon

With long, dark naturally curly hair, I was ready for a change early in October.  I chose a salon based on reviews online, location and 'atmosphere.'  After dropping $200 for a haircut, color stripping, new color and styling, hair product and tip, I had to quit fooling myself, pretending I 'just had to get used to it.'  My hairwas orange - even after many times telling my stylist of past bad color experiences and showing her pictures of my goal - medium brown with some auburn streaks lightly throughout (sure! we can do that!)  I took a pair of scissors to it that same week - made some improvement. 
On a whim while walking through Citadel Mall with my husband, I mentioned to him that the best hair stylist I'd ever had was in Miami, a woman I got by good fortune by walking in to a dept dtore one day many years a
go. So we decided to try the jcp salon and, wow! I'm sure glad we did.  The receptionist was warm and friendly and, after getting some info from each of us as to what we were looking for, I was paired with Renee.  I loved my hair then and in subsequent visits.  You don't have to pay a fortune Charleston! Renee is the best hairstylist ever!  She is current, an excellent listener who 'gets' what you're saying and then does it.  Genius!  No, it doesn't have all the atmosphere and you won't be offered a cafe latte or sparkling mineral water, no potpouri in the baths but who cares!  Good, down to earth place, great staff and all at less than half of most salons you're probably considering.
