A nightmare experience! He estimated 4 days, and it ended up taking about 2 weeks. About a week into the process we mentioned our own moving deadline, and they rushed through the job, polyurethaning over very a very uneven stain job--there were brush streaks and some spots were very light and some were very dark. We asked if it was possible to even out the stain, and Curtis offered to do a light sanding, just down to the stain, and apply another coat. Instead, his assistants sanded all the way down to bare floor again. We showed them places that were stained to our satisfaction as well as some areas that looked very splotchy, but they didn't seem to understand the difference between an even coat and a dark coat. The men coated our floors with stain, so that our floors just look like they were painted dark brown. We can barely see any wood grain. In addition, the finish is rough--if you slide across the floor in sock feet your socks get stuck--and bubbly in spots. They finished over lots of dust and dirt, and we can also see spots where the sanding is uneven. They got stain on the baseboards and even on the walls in spots. This was a horrible experience for us--our move date was delayed and we had to pay extra for our apartment, and the quality of the work was far below what we expected. The people doing the work did not seem to have experience with the kind of stain we had chosen. They rushed through the re-do and did poor work all around.
Description of Work: They refinished the existing hardwood floors in our home, including sanding, staining a dark walnut, and sealing with polyurethane.
