Boats
Here is a list of the items that were supposedly repaired, installed or worked on with accompanying comments on the completeness of the work. 1. Tune up 250 2 stroke Yamaha. Replace motor fuel filter and gas lines. Test engine for compression. If needed repair tilt and trim. a. The engine did not start after the boat was picked up. There was no fuel in the motor fuel filter indicating it had not been started. 3 of 6 injectors were plugged and needed to be cleaned. The high pressure fuel pump did not work at all. The water pump impeller was not replaced. All of the above would have precluded anyone starting and testing the engine. b. After picking up the boat and discovering it would not start I left a voice mail on your phone asking for assistance. You never returned that phone call. c. We contracted with a mechanic to diagnose the engine. We replaced or cleaned the following parts. i. 3 low pressure fuel pumps ii. 1 high pressure fuel pump iii. removed and cleaned all fuel injectors iv. replaced all fuel lines from the tanks to engine including the 2way fuel selector, v. replaced the onboard fuel/water separator vi. Tilt and trim piston leaking oil. vii. 2..Remove and reinstall motor bracket and motor for painting prep. a. After picking up the boat and doing a sea trial it was noted that the bracket leaked water into the pontoon on the bottom of the bracket. The bracket was not sealed correctly allowing water to seep into the pontoon. Also, when water entered the pontoon it leaked into the boat bilge via 3 bolt holes that were not sealed correctly. Will need to remove bracket and reseal the entire bracket. b. When the platform and engine were placed back on the boat you did not connect the oil pump sensor nor the power to the sensor henceforth we had to hire a mechanic to troubleshoot the issue. He found the sensor wires coiled up inside the transom! 3. I also asked you to install a V700 Lewmar windlass. a.The installation of the wiring is pretty sloppy. The foot switch on the bow was wired backward. The worst part is that the windlass was installed about 1 inch off center so that the line and chain do make a straight line to the anchor roller. When I picked up the boat from you I was under the impression that it was ready to go and that you had tested all the components. Sadly, this was not true and we spent considerable time and money to fix what you should have done and you charged us for.
