Craig Matzinger, Sandra Matzinger, and Keegan Matzinger (their 17 year old son) work as a team. Craig is a custom cabinet maker with over 20+ years of experience and Keegan is following in his dad's footsteps. We had worked with them on our bathroom renovation a few months earlier. Both jobs were done with beauty of design and high quality finished products. Dovetailing on all drawers, all cabinets and drawers soft close, blind corner fixes so there is no waste of space, modern and convenient yet also old and traditional touches. Our bathroom was done in Australian Cypress and our kitchen was done in a warm Butternut wood with the range hood and pantry in an Osprey color for accenting those pieces. The crown molding in our kitchen is also Butternut and it flows into the eat-in area to give the area a completed and icing on the cake look. Under-cabinet lighting, new hood, and Craig and Keegan worked with an existing kitchen layout and made their custom cabinets fit to a tee our old kitchen layout so no redoing of the floor was necessary. New cabinet pantry is huge, convenient to get in and out of and all food items plus some of my bigger appliances fit in it so counters are now clear and free of clutter. Their work is time consuming but final product is worth the wait. I cannot give a reference that is good enough for the work that they do and provide for your home. I can say this: my husband is a very detailed and particular person, so much so, that there were times when he would get frustrated with time lag. And, shortly into the renovation we sadly found out we had to put our home on the real estate market to move to Northern Virginia, but we will enjoy them while we can. Last night my husband told me that when we redo the cabinets in the home up north that he will have Craig Matzinger and Keegan Matzinger do the renovation there also. I think having someone come 3 States away to do your kitchen renovation is quite the reference, don't you?!! AND, I know we will do it too. Keegan Matzinger is a 17-year old graduating from high school this year (June 2015) and will be eventually taking over his father's business and legacy. Keegan has been handing his dad a hammer, or a nail, and learning from his dad, Craig, since he was a toddler. (When you hire the Matzinger's -- you hire new friends and family because they are proud of their work and deservedly so.) His dad did do a lot of the detail work cutting, but Keegan was a wonder with our kitchen. We marveled at his work ethic and I bragged on Facebook that a 17-year old was building our kitchen. Now most people would not even think about having a 17-year old build their kitchen, but they have never met Keegan Matzinger. His father, before the job was started, sat down with us and said that Keegan has a deep love for the wood, as much or more than Craig does, and Craig says that Keegan will be even better than he is one day. I believe it. There are things, business and project management that could be done better, but I guarantee you will be more than satisfied with the outcome of any work Diversified Woods, Inc. does for your home.
