I was referred here by my veterinarian when my dog needed specialized treatment and diagnosis. I could not be happier with the care and concern Dr. Welch, Dr. Graham and the rest of the team gave my 8-year old Shih Tzu. My dog presented with a high fever and raging urinary tract infection. Ultrasound determined that she had kidney stones and bladder stones as well. CVRC kept my dog overnight for two days and treated her with medication, fluids, a prescription diet and further ultrasounds to check her progress. It was determined that we would use the diet to minimize the kidney stone problem and try a urohydropulsion to remove any stones that remained three weeks later. They did the procedure but found that some of the kidney stones were large and shaped so that they would have to be removed surgically. They were honest and told me that while they could do the surgery, it would be cheaper to have my vet do it. They sent the stones they had gotten from the urohydropulsion procedure to be analyzed in the meantime. They called frequently to check on my dog and were genuinely concerned for her welfare. Both doctors sat down with me and explained everything in detail along the way. They were patient and made sure that I completely understood all that was happening. Never did I feel rushed. When the stones came back from analysis, Dr. Welch called and explained her recommendations for diet and future treatment. I cannot say enough kind words about these doctors and this facility. A+++++

I had been bringing my beloved pet there for cardiac care. Any time i came in, they were friendly, let you know what everything would cost in advance; very professional bunch. My beloved pet went in to cardiac arrest on the way to the hospital and passed away on the way there. It was very early in the morning. I pressed the buzzer and let them know that i was certain he had already passed, but the young lady on staff took him back anyway to see if there was anything they could do. Unfortunately, this time they could not, but they could not have been any sweeter about the whole process. They wrapped him in his blanket, cleaned him up, and gave him back to me in a little puppy coffin. To my surprise, a few days later, i received a hand written card, signed by all the staff. That was really above and beyond and helped me with my very difficult time.

Overall, we had an awesome experience - both on the "specialty" and emergency angles. The doctors are very thorough and kept me up to date with any and all changes along the way. They included me in all decision making. I was very impressed with the knowledge and compassion showed to me and my dog. The technicians and doctors cared for my dog like he was their own. He doesn't even mind going back in for rechecks! I really like that the doctors "round" (that's what they called it) in the mornings, discussing our case (and I assume all cases?) to get different angles and opinions of the other veterinarians on staff.
