A 3rd generation, family owned business, our mission is the maintenance and care of the health and beauty of trees and shrubs. We are an international organization, with offices in Canada, England and Ireland. Our Research Laboratories advises us about the latest technological advances in arboriculture and assists our arborists with training updates. The laboratory networks with professionals at universities, government agencies, and allied industry groups. This enables us to provide state-of-the art procedures and techniques to our clients. Our arborists consult with other professionals for common projects and community interests. Our unique position in the green industry helps us further arboriculture as a science and a profession. We believe in providing preventive property maintenance to avoid landscape problems or treat them proactively rather than using “reactive” maintenance methods that are driven by situations and events. They did not grind the stump and made a dent in the retaining wall on the terrace but it's hardly noticeable.

It went perfectly. Todd came out and provided an estimate, explained what they would do, sent us a written estimate in less than 24 hours, Eddie and his helper showed up on time, completed the work in 7 hours (Todd also showed up to survey the work in progress and make sure his vision for the oak had been executed), and left the grounds neat as a pin. I am sure there are less expensive providers and I'm also sure those providers don't attend so rigorously to safety, do the same kind of professional job, and leave the place looking so spiffy.

The live oaks surrounding our home had not been trimmed in recent years and were overhanging the house. The work was done professionally from the office staff, to the repersentive who provided the estimate (Cameron), through the crew who completed the work. This was not an easy job as most of the work had to be done while climbing the trees with ropes and pulleys to get to the limbs overhanging the house.

From the very beginning, everyone I interacted with was AWESOME. We had two companies come out for a quote, and Bartlett had the lower quote. I also loved that their guys are certified arborists; they really know their stuff and care about maintaining the health of the trees-- not just whacking at them. After I decided I wanted some additional limbs cut from other trees, Cameron promptly came back to give me a new quote. He also volunteered tons of useful information that had absolutely nothing to do with the work I had hired him to do, but was pretty helpful with regards to our landscaping, etc. After signing the contract, they were at my house the following week. Eddie & Marco were just as friendly & helpful as Cameron, and were obviously pro's at this. They discarded all debris and left everything spic & span. I would definitely use them again and recommend freely.

We had a large red oak tree in the back yard 50 ft from the house that had a cavity on one side at the base. Two other tree care company representatives had said the tree should be cut down. The Bartlett arborist representative wasn't sure and suggested a test. Based on the structural integrity analysis of core samples, he judged the tree to be structurally unsound. When the stump was cut, one of the cutters said, based on how the wood splintered at the cut, the tree was becoming unsound, and we had made the right decision to cut it. We also had a double-trunk beech tree in the back yard 10 ft from the house that had a hollow cavity at the base. The Bartlett crew of 2 climbers and cutters and one assistant who took the trees down was very professional, pleasant, and friendly. To see a guy climb 40 ft up the oak and cut the limbs was impressive. There was minimal impact to the rest of the yard from having the two trees and debris removed. The arborist representative was also professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and patient with the many questions I had.

They were great. It took a few times to get them to call back. But, the scheduling took less than a week from first phone call to date of service. They were very professional, took all of he debris with them (which was quite a lot) and we would definitely use them again.

Their estimate was hugely higher than anyone else's, but I hired them because of their reputation with the City of Charleston. The tree was very close to the house and porch, and inside a fenced yard with difficult access. The took the tree out, without incident, but didn't return to grind the stump and roots. I contacted them several months later, and was told that the completion of the project had fallen through the cracks. They advised they would come on a certain date to follow through, but they did not. I called again, received an apology and a new date. They did come on the rescheduled date, and did a good job. They never mailed me an invoice, even after I asked twice. I was told they would email it to me, but I didn't get that either. I finally just put the check in the mail to them.

They called me on 4/19, the original start date, to say they couldn't come. It was too wet and slippery. They came back the next day and did everything as specified in the estimate. Very happy and satisfied.

They are wonderful; very, very professional. The young man who came to give us an estimate was an arborist. They are highly professional, they were here when they said they were going to be here and they cleaned up behind themselves. They may not have been the least expensive but They have all the equipment, they are quick, clean and professional. I highly, highly recommend them and I would absolutely use them again.
