Did a great job on a tree that was difficult to remove.

I am writing this review at the request of Mr. John C Dangerfield. Mr. Dangerfield chose to hire this company recently to remove a tree and grind a stump at his house. Mr. Dangerfield is extremely unsatisfied with this company and all the events that transpired after he made his job request. The company came out as promised and cut the tree in half, leaving it lying in his yard for several days due to some summer storms that were in the area. Mr. Dangerfield chose to contact the company again to see when they would be back out to remove the remains of the tree because he was nervous that after all of the rain his yard would be at risk. As it turns out Mr. Dangerfield had a reason to be concerned. A few days after contacting the company they came out to Mr. Dangerfield's property in a Bobcat and proceded to remove the tree as well as grind the stump. Mr. Dangerfield was not present at the property at the time, nor was he informed that the company would be there that afternoon. Upon Mr. Dangerfield's return to the property he noticed that his yard had been absolutely destroyed, sprinkler heads had been crushed, flowerbeds were in shambles, electrical lines had been severed, and to top it all off the company had failed to remove the woodchips from grinding the stump from his yard. Needless to say, Mr. Dangerfield was absolutely furious with the state of his property. He has since attempted to contact the owner on multiple occasions with no luck. Mr. Dangerfield has received an estimate of the damages of upwards of $1,000. Mr. Dangerfield wanted to make sure that his experiences were documented online so that others people do not end up in the same situation because of this company.

Guy that did tree trimming was excellent. The one that removed trees did about $100 in damage to yard lighting and birth bath. noticed this after they left. I believe it is good that they aren't associated with Angie's List anymore.

They were hard to get a hold of at first, and didn't call an hour ahead on first visit, but after meeting up with the boss man, he was quite sincere and honest. His crew showed up earlier than the original date which was completely fine with us, and they did everything we agreed would be done. They cut down the tree quickly; they did damage a fence picket and a little bit of something else but we really didn't care, we expected it, and anything beats hurricane damage to our house! They left us with the tree leftovers as agreed. We paid what we thought was fair, and now we have an open backyard with no concerns of hurricane tree damage! Considering cost, quality of work, etc, we do recommend this business and would use it again. Thank you.

They did cut some trees but I wasn't offered the pricing offered on your site. I had to pay much more and the most important work which I requested wasn't done. I'll have to pay someone additional money to "get it right". His attitude was bad and he absolutely know nothing about customer service, as well as his crew. I could have hired others to do it for much less. I felt "ripped off". The experience was horrible. I wouldn't use them again under any circumstances.'

Douglas, who gave initial assessment and price was prompt to arrive, and we agreed on scope of job and terms. He and his crew arrived on scheduled date. The work was done in a timely manner. My less than fully positive review is based on the following: I needed the work done to protect storage building, and expected the removed limbs to be lowered clear of its roof... that was not done. Nearly all of the lowered mass of limbs and branches were allowed to descend on top of the roof instead of being guided to open areas on either side. They were told to not get on roof but did anyway to cut away tangle of branches. After they left I found a roof panel pushed inward where the main branch cut end had been allowed to drop from not keeping tension on the control rope. The whole mass of cut branches should have been pulled clear of the building as it was lowered. The damage was not something I couldn't fix by pushing the roof panels back up into place, but that could have been avoided if the load was lowered under better control. I screwed up myself that day by giving Douglas the wrong amount in payment as he left, but he returned later that afternoon for the balance, and I appoligzed for shorting him. I will use Douglas again if needed because over all he did a good job, and he and I will be exact in our agreement on how the job will be done.

We had large hickory tree leaning within a foot or so of our house after Hurricane Matthew. The entire top of the tree was over the roof. I wasn't sure how it could be done, but Mr. Rivers and his crew got it down and hauled away with nothing but a little sawdust left behind. Great job.

I left a message and he called me back pretty quickly, and it was easy to setup a time for him to come out and give me a quote and for the actual work. He and his workers cleared out a bunch of brush from the backyard and it looked a lot better after they finished. They also trimmed the trees back from the house and took out a couple of branches.

Contractor showed up without proper tools and equipment to do the job. The contractor had very little tree removal experience. He hired a professiona tree climber who cut down the trees. He had no equipment to remove the debris except a flatbed trailer and a leaf rake. He depended on labor to lift and carry. The burden of the task soon became apparent and he sought outside help to carry off debris. Unfortunately the equipment he brought in was not suited to work in yards. In the process he put big ruts in the yard and did not want to repair the damage by adequately filling in ruts and packing them. He also tried not to clean up all debris, saying it was not from the trees he cut. Actually it was, as I showed him the fresh chainsaw cuts. He became very angry when I asked him to completely clean up the debris from my yard. I had to point to many things he failed to pick up. At one point he started talking vulgar to me using the "f" word frequently. I finally paid him and told him to leave and I would finish his work.
