1st Choice HVAC Services

We used this provider for two entire HVAC systems years ago. This time during a cleaning, we were told we needed all new duct work immediately at a cost of roughly $1000 to fix mold. After agreeing, writing a check for half $400 and being talked into a $279 yearly maintenance ($679 check total), he then came back after  4 pm the same day with issues cashing our check. Apparently he was trying to cash into a personal account and not business account, asked for a new one and immediately cashed, not deposited. This made us question a few things, this system had been installed by them two years ago - now causing mold? We got a second opinion that same day. No duct work or mold found. Just needed to be more vigilant about changing our filters, some Robert Whittemore never mentioned.  We called him, canceled the service and asked for $400 of the deposit back while letting him keep the $279 for the yearly maintenance.  A month later, he refuses to take our calls, even when calling from different numbers he pretends to be "Cliff" his brother when we call.  After even more research, he has numerous small claims judgments against him, BBB failure ratiing and horrible reviews in the past few year. Wish we had continued to check references and reviews over the years and discontinued our business with him earlier. Horrible way to treat a customer who had spent $10,000 over past six years. 
Now I will be starting a Small Claims myself for full amount. Horrible, horrible service. Obviously running a scam to generate money by calling clients, convincing them to schedule a cleaning so as not to "void warranty" and then "creating" problems that scares clients into agreeing to work. STAY AWAY.

Bobby Whittemore was recommended by a property manager. We paid for equipment to replace our home's HVAC system; he cashed the check and we haven't seen him since. During the period when he would answer his phone and/or return text messages, his excuses included, "my child is sick, I'm sick, my helper is sick, my sister died, I'm on a job right now, I have a job tomorrow, I have a job next week," and his go-to response, "I'm away from my office right now; let me call you first thing in the morning."
