BATES ROOFING CO

Upon arrival home from my active duty Army job out of state I went into the attic to check on the repair. The plywood which was immediately below the vent tube had not been changed. The Bates roofer replaced a smaller piece of plywood at the base of the roof and it appears that they replaced less than half of the shingles that I was charged for. I called Mr Bates on the Fri of the Memorial day weekend. He stated he would be there the next day around 10:00. By 3:30 I called the company and the phone was answered by the owners wife. My message was never passed on to any of the staff. I filled a letter to the Better Business Bureau regarding the issue and received a call from the owner a week later. He stated then and still states that they did the work as promised. I still have a roof that is rotted, and was able to push my finger through the plywood while the roofer, Mr. Bates was in the attic with me. Although he felt the roof was fine, he would not walk or jump on the area that is damaged. I would not want my worst enemy use this company. And worse thought yet. Had I not have been doing my job as a Soldier, and not available to assess their work, this would have never have happened.
