Everything went fine until the day of the installation. When the workers were doing the master bath I immediately noticed that the tub deck had a crack in it. I told them to stop. I called Sheila Kelca, one of the owners, and explained the situation. She told me not to worry it would be taken care. The next disaster was in the kitchen. They had mis-cut the slab of granite going around my cooktop by 3/4 inch too big on one end of it! Finally, I was not given the backsplash granite to go around the edge of the tub which of course, I had paid for.
Mike Kelca's solution to the tub was to cut out the crack leaving me with a seam in the front of the tub. I should mention with the granite that I selected, adding a different piece of the same granite would stand out and look like a terrible mistake. Also, I didn't want a seam or crack in the front because that would be the first thing anyone would notice. A couple months later, Sheila called, and said they could offer me a black leathered piece of granite (my bathroom is in brown tones with a polished granite countertop.) The other solution was to replace the tub deck with different piece of granite NOT matching my countertop! Using another piece of granite (acceptable to me) would have been fine if they wanted to replace my countertop so that everything matched. On the kitchen granite, Mike glued a strip of aluminum behind the cooktop which fell off a week later. Also, aluminum does not go with stainless steel. It just looked so tacky! A matching granite pencil behind the cooktop would have fixed the problem nicely
This situation is going on almost a year now. Kelca's are no longer answering my phone calls or returning any of my calls. I paid for this entire project well in advance of the delivery The installation was done at their convenience. This is no way to treat a good repeat customer. I am still hoping that Kelca's will do the right thing. If they do, I will follow up with the resolution.
In the meantime, I would not use them. If someone were to use them, don't pay for service until you are 100% satisfied with the job.
