Coastal Veterinary Clinic

Dr. Matt Tenwolde is the new emergency care vet and he is wonderful. Our dog is terrified of thunder and fireworks. New Year's Eve was not a problem because we had a mild sedative for our dog thanks to Dr. Matt! We have taken all of our pets to Coastal Veterinary Clinic over many years and ALL of their services rate A+ but it is especially wonderful that they have now added an emergency veterinary service that has been much needed in our area.

They do an outstanding job. They take good care of my dog. The cleanliness of the office is excellent.

I did not have to wait long in the waiting room. I was able to get an appointment the next day. He took his time with my turtle and told me possibilities of what could be wrong. He gave me a take home remedy and followed up with me well. He did not even charge me for the visit.

My dog is very nervous at the vet, but their staff was wonderful with Max. Our appointment was very last minute and we were seen within a couple days. The facility is immaculate and staff very friendly. I was very please with Dr Parker's knowledge, interest, and compassion. I feel much more confident about his care at Coastal.

Ben takes care of wildlife as well. One day when I was there, there was a tiny fawn they were nursing. They have had baby crows they took care of. It is a great place and the office manager, Marthi, has been there forever. They have saved many animals and are great for emergencies. If you need to have an animal put down, they will not rush you.

Dr. Parker reviewed all the records we had brought with us about our dogs' issues. He grasped all the details immediately and we were able to engage in a professional and thorough discussion of the issues. When I gave a weak description of our puppies issues with vomiting, Dr Parker quickly described in great deal what was happen and what we could do about it. His diagnosis and what we could do with her diet have been perfect and our little girl is doing very well.
I came to Bluffton wondering how well we would do with vet care. Our west coast vets were the gold standard in dog care. We are of the opinion that Dr. Parker's practice is on a par of what we were expecting and hoping for. A great relief.
On a personal level this staff and the doctor himself are very personable and we look forward to a long relationship with the practice.
I read a negative comment about costs on this list. The costs we received were substantially lower than we had ever paid. Very reasonable. I was charged what one dog would have cost on the west coast. The other comment I have about what was written is you need to have your pets examined at least annually. Only going to the vet when your pet is sick is unwise. I discounted that comment and would urge others to also.

Dr. Parker is knowledgeable, amiable and professional.

As stated above I am clearly the owner and I just joined Angie's list but if they do not have any means to collaborate such stories by such customers, the value of this is worthless.

I considered this outrageous considering there was never a mention of cost. After paying this amount to check my cat out, I found out from another person that he did the same thing to her and she was a person of much lesser means of payment than me. She also said her cat died shortly after that and he charged her another $130 to put the cat down. I met with Ben Parker, the owner, and he said that this was his standard procedure and that I had no right to object and that I should have known better. After I told him I was not going to pay, he said he would take me to court and called me an "a**."Hopefully I can find another person on your list that won't call me an "a**" for trying to help my cat and has a more positive way of dealing with clients.

They had a lot of options available as far as surgery. It was not cheaper but they have a laser surgery and stuff like that so there is quicker recovery for the dog. They have friendly staff and they are very knowledgeable. It was overall a good experience.
