I nicknamed him the "Italian Dynamo".
Superior work ethic, superior workmanship, excellent time-management, fair prices.
Tony Lopresti went above and beyond any of my preconceived expectations for the job.
His carpentry work was beautiful!
3 SC Licenses: Licensed electrician, plumber and contractor.
Unfailing positive attitude
Hey...   "Mike" on HGTV has NOTHING on Tony Lopresti.
In fact, I think Tony has the skills and the personality to have his own show.
I wouldn't hesitate for a minute to recommend him to anyone.
(I even joined Angie's List just so I could write this recommendation)

I've hired many carpenters/ contractors in my day; Tony Lopresti (Your Neighborhood Handyman) is the best of the best.

He only worked a small job for 2 days. I have a rental property and it was 4 lights to be switched, like 2 ceiling lights and a stand that you put in instead of a ceiling light. It was all flushed ceiling lights and then to put a new toilet paper roller or holder. Also to put small little round towel holders and to put a new faucet on the kitchen sink, then a new light fixture in the bathroom. He quoted me $650 which I paid him since I mailed it to him. I live in San Diego and I have rentals there in South Carolina and so I paid him and then he called me the second day and said there is a little leak in the kitchen sink, so it should be about $750 and I said fine and he said he's going to go to Lowe's which is about a quarter of a mile away to find out where it is down the street. I said just go get inexpensive, it's a rental property, there's something to work and I don't want anything to break and it's about $50 so he said fine. He finished that and he sent me the bill and it was $1500. He charged me $80 to get light bulb which I'd never asked him to do, $80 to go get light bulb, so I figured that was $150 an hour and changed all the prices in the bill and it was an estimate. He never gave me an estimate even though I asked him for an estimate. I just paid him what we verbally agreed upon which is $650 and I asked him for the receipt so I can pay him for the rest of it and he still haven't gave me the receipt. My husband and I had e-mailed him twice to ask him for the receipts and I have not gotten them so I need to pay him the $750. I'm not gonna pay him $1500  because that's ridiculous, that's not what he quoted me. That was very horrible, it was awful. And I told him, I said I had just closed on another property and I said I can't have you working for me because I need a bid which I got from somebody else, a contractor, he wasn't a handyman but it doesn't matter to me, I'm willing to do a handyman but I said you never gave me a bid and then he gave me a verbal. I also said to him, I paid you and then he told me there was a problem and I'm willing to pay you the difference but you won't give me the receipt because I made the payment for what he bought and I do not want to owe people money and I know I owe money but I need to have the receipt, he's not giving me the receipt. Before getting his services, you need to get a bid from him and let him know before he even start the job so you know what it's gonna cost and don't go with a verbal, you need to get a written. That was my mistake, I should have gotten but a verbal agreement was legal anyway but I would have rather, it would have been a better relationship. I actually had never seen what he's done either because I live here that's why I can't grade his work.

Tony is exacting and meticulous with his work.  The complete kitchen renovation took six weeks which is about average for a large kitchen remodeling.  He had to do some custom alteration of cabinets for installation of the oven and microwave.  Tony insisted that the job be done properly and that the work was professional in appearance.  He did not take short cuts.  We are very pleased with the final kitchen.  Tony was receptive to suggestions we made and to our concerns about making steady progress.  The finished product is beautiful and Tony was willing to stay later than usual to make up any time that was needed. His assistant is very capable as well and is extremely hard working.

Even though our builder  walked away from job, but left us with poor quality and defective work. Tony was able to go in after the builder and repair/replace defective work. Tony guarantees his work for sometimes 3 or more years and will not move on to another task until the current one is complete. He is organized, prompt, skilled and will always take the time to ease your concerns or explain to you what he thinks is necessary. He has been a blessing to us in this very trying situation.
