Tommy came to look around the project, gave me a list of materials to buy and gave us a hard bid. I had used him once before and he had done very good work. This time around, Tommy was different. I called Tommy to advise him that I needed him to not come on Wednesday, since my other crews were still on the job. He came onto the job anyway and basically dismissed my other crews, saying that they were taking too long and he would finish up their work in addition to his own. Tommy only worked a few hours that day. He worked all day Thursday with another crew member, hanging drywall and backer boards. On Friday, he only worked for about 2.5 hours. On Saturday, my husband realized that the electrical wasn?t working and called Tommy. He made him come over that day. Tommy showed up and tried denying that he had touched anything electrical. One of our personal worker reminded Tommy that he had been around the electrical and had been working on a circuit. Tommy confirmed this. Monday, Tommy informed us that he wasn?t coming out on since he had to close on a house he was purchasing. We advised that he had agreed to have the job done by Tuesday since we had other obligations by Wednesday. Tommy agreed to come out that evening to do the painting. Tuesday morning, my husband and I decided to head out to the guest house to take a look at the work that Tommy had done the night before. It was a nightmare. The painting job was by far the worst I have ever seen and a 6 year old could have done better. There were giant paint drippings dried all the way down the walls. (This will have to be sanded down and refinished now.) He had moved a custom corner cabinet away from the walls in order to paint and that appeared to have been dropped against one the walls causing damage to both the drywall and breaking the cabinet itself. We ended up having to get the assistance of the local sheriff in firing Tommy after all of this. He had to be escorted from our property, with his tools. He got very aggressive and threatened to take us to court. He was given a no trespassing order by the sheriff and I have no problem going to court because of the manner of our contract (not paid hourly).
Description of Work: We have been working on our guest house and Tommy was hired to do the finishing work.
