Kendrick Paint and Body - Aiken

I had a collision with a small animal and medium damage was done to my 2012 Nissan Sentra.  Most of the damage was cosmetic to the bumper, and some fairings underneath the vehicle?.stuff I would call "Body Damage."  There was also some minor mechanical damage in that the animal put a dent in my air conditioner condenser.  Though the air conditioner continued to function properly, I felt the part needed to be replace to preclude problems down the road after the accident was just a memory.   As such I'll divide my review into two parts?.the body work and the mechanical repair.
1. Body work I have no problem with.  Everything appears fine, part fitment looks good and color matching of paint and clear coat looks good also?.at present, I have no problems with that repair.
2.  Mechanical?namely the air conditioner.  Since the repair was done the the late winter, there was no need to use the air conditioner?but approx 2 weeks after the repair, I turned the air conditioner on and nothing but hot air blew.  A few days later I took the vehicle back (it's a 60 mile round trip from my home, so this is a real pain).  I was pleasant, told their service rep the problem and they took a day and confirmed there was no refrigerant in the system.  I was told that they sent the car to one of their "specialists" and he recharged the car and put dye in they system "just in case" there is a leak they can locate it.  Upon picking up the car, I told their service rep what a pain this was and it would've been nice if they had "turned the a/c on" the first time to verify it worked.  (Their rep told my they didn't catch it the first time because their gauges were broken)?which was why I replied, "did somebody even both to turn it on and check that it worked?"  The rep shrugged his shoulders and stated, "Oh, Well?" (which he denied stating today).
I returned the car again today, the a/c is inop?the same service representative helped me, but didn't even recall me, my vehicle or that I was back for the 3rd time, which makes me question his memory of our last "Oh Well" encounter.   In discussing the problem again, I informed him that I was done making these 60 mile round trips for the same problem?.the representative didn't even apologize for their inconveniencing me, the smart aleck gave me the, "I'm sorry you feel that way."  While he offered me a rental car, he didn't seem to grasp the concept that I still have to make these 60 mile round trips which eat up 2-3 hours each time.  When I pointed this out to him, smacking gum he snidely replied, "I'm sorry I don't think at the same level as you."  I told him, "we're done, I'll take the care somewhere else and you can deal with my insurance company for the poor quality work."  I did take the car to a Nissan dealer, the diagnosed the problem in approx 2 hours.  The problem was that the part Kendrick installed was BAD.  The new condenser was leaking and appears not to be an OEM part.  Furthermore, they lied to me.  The dealer told me that nobody had placed dye in the system to help locate/verify a leak     While the original cost of repair was approximately $1300.  With the new part and all the labor to redo the work?the new cost amount will be $2100.  My insurance company used this facility as their claims adjuster and promised me that they'll be review this relationship since it has now cost them almost twice the original cost estimate.

A car that I owned that was driven by one of my kids was involved in an accident. It was towed to Kendrick's because the insurance company said that that was the preferred provider to them. When I went in there to talk to them and give them my key, nobody acknowledged me when I walked in. There were two people at the desks. She acted like I was bothering her by talking to her. If it were my place, I would have fired her because that's not how you talk to people. I met with the guy that was going to give me the estimate for it. We talked about the car and I told him what happened. He said he would get back to me the next day. He didn't call me back the next day, so I called him. When I called, the guy that answered said it was the insurance company's car. I insisted that it was my car and he told me to he would call me the next day with the estimate. The following day, I waited until 10 and then called them. I spoke to they guy whom I had talked to the first time and I asked for the estimate. He said he had forwarded it to the insurance company. I asked him for a copy of the estimate and he declined. He reported to the insurance company that I had a previous oil leak, which I didn't have any experience of. He added that the oil leak was the reason the oil came out and the motor ended up being ruined. I recall telling him that during the accident, the oil came out and we had refilled it. Anyway, I felt like he was working for the insurance company and not for me. I would never use them. When I finally got the quote from the insurance company, it wasn't an accurate one and wasn't inclusive of everything.

It took a bit longer than expected to get my car back because new parts had to be ordered, but I was highly satisfied with the service!

Door was crushed. Had to replace it, paint the whole side of the car, reapply striping. it looks like new, and was done for at least $600 LESS than the estimate I got from a competitor.

Overall, I am very pleased with the outcome of the work done by Kendrick Paint and Auto Body in Aiken. I highly recommend their services and would use their services again.
