BEWARE OF USING MARIO'S RECONDITIONED APPLIANCES INC. I'm thankful i always hangout near the oven when using it. Our oven was recently serviced yesterday by Mario's Reconditioned Appliance Inc because the ignitor died on it. So we used it last night for dinner and noticed an odd smell, we chalked it up to must be from the new part. As I'm using the oven today I'm like no something is definitely burning. Sure enough i open the broiler and boom there's a melted power tester, batteries and all just sitting there. An obvious fire hazard. My step father then calls them telling them this and here is the response from the 'owner' (person claimed to be owner using ' just in case it's not). "What would you like me to do? I'm the owner and I did the job, do you want me to fire myself?" Then the 'owner' proceeded to joke " Would you like me to cook you dinner?" Then even went so far as to joke "You think you're upset, I just lost a $150 tool." Those who don't know what a power tester is, it's a cheap small tool that beeps/flashes of there's power in something you touch it to, it costs about $20 for most higher quality types. Including pictures of the melted one and one that's pretty spot on from Walmart for $6 (if I'm able to include pictures) . Disgusting how people can make so light of endangering an entire household. What if it was my grandfather starting that oven and then going back to his room? Sure i caught it before the was a fire, but what if I didn't, how funny would they find that then? People make me sick. Those were very unprofessional responses.

I was very disappointed.  He charged me to come over and just to tell me that there was a fuse...a fuse that has nothing to do with the machine.  I have two items for him to look at it, he looked only one item and he told me that the item is defused and there's nothing I can do about it...that was it.  Then he charged me to come over and left me with the old machine.  I was expecting for a better service for the money.

He suggested that I get a new microwave instead of him repairing it, which I did. He was wonderful. I found a microwave that I wanted and I told him the best price I found for it, and he matched it.

-  I called and said he dropped a spring. He said he would be back but never came back. I called and told him the food in the refrigerator was still freezing after a week and a half went by. He called me a couple of weeks later and said that I had to take everything out of the refrigerator and freezer for 48 hours, which I did not do. That was my last contact with Mario's.

I recently had a service repairman come out from Sears for the refrigerator which is a 3year old 29.7 cubic foot Whirlpool refrigerator from Sears. He said the screw that the Mario's service man was necessary for the working of the icemaker.

Thought our front-loading washing machine was toast, so we called Mario.  He came out the next day, took the machine apart, spent about an hour checking everything, and determined that the leak was a freak accident and that there was nothing wrong.  After a month of working perfectly, he was absolutely right.  Wouldn't accept a dime in payment until 3 weeks later to see if the problem came back, in which case he agreed to come back right away to fix it.  Joy to work with as well - highly recommended.

Mario has done work for me in the past and is very thorough and knowledgeable. Called him right away when I dropped a small bottle down the lint filter opening (don't ask!) Called him at 2:20, he was here and gone within an hour, even though he had to take the whole dryer "guts" apart to get to the bottle. He's very professional and efficient and a really nice guy, too! He's my "go to" man for appliance repair.

My dad was visiting and surprised me with his strong and sudden wish to fix several problems in my kitchen, including a broken and unfixable oven. To complete these repairs during my father's visit, we needed to acquire a new oven in a selected model and have it delivered in the next 24 hours. I did not think this would be possible. I called several retail vendors, and none could provide the oven in less than a week. Mario was able to come by with the new oven that afternoon, and his price was in line with those I found elsewhere. He removed the old appliance, installed the new one, and patiently allowed my enthusiastic dad to assist him. Our 1920's house required the oven to be directly wired (rather than plugged) into the wall, and Mario easily handled the ancient wiring. He was prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable.

They were punctual and fair with their price. When they came to my house, their price was $125.00 but they gave me 10% off. They were really good!

Our dishwasher apparently was never properly installed. As a result when full and with both trays open it would fall forward.
Additionally one of the tray roller wheels was missing causing further movement and clanking. Very annoying every time the dishwasher was full.
Enter Mario. He was exactly on time, neat, professional and personable. I think the work we required was child's play for him.
He fixed both problems perfectly and we have had no further dishwasher issues.
I would not hesitate to call him in the future.

He didn't agree that it was smaller
Response from Mario's Reconditioned Appliances
"We apologize for any miscommunication regarding appliance size. With todays technology some appliances may appear to be smaller but offer the same capacity as an older machine or are by design made smaller in the name of energy savings based on government standards."

There weren't any don'ts. Mario and an assistant arrived at the time that was agreed to and they went right to work. Mario kept me informed step by step with what he was doing. The job was performed in less than 30 minutes and looked terrific.

I have used them several times over the years. I spent about $150 the last time they did a repair. The guy has never let me down. I have recommended him to family and friends. Nobody has complained about him. I would use him again in the future.

His secretary gave me a two hour window for him to arrive and he did arrive during the stated time period.  Mario is a friendly, jovial guy who seems to love what he does and appears to know his trade very well.  I'm grateful he was able to repair my machine so I didn't have to go out and buy a new one.  I will definitely call him again.  If you are looking for a friendly, no nonsense experience I recommend Mario's Appliances wholeheartedly.
