The new house shingle was to exactly match the other building on the property that the contractor had finished two years earlier. He ordered the wrong shingle and said the contracted shingle was no longer available. When I contacted the manufacturer, who said the color and style was current, the contractor became evasive, dismissive and highly insulting when asked to correct his error. He told me he's not willing to do anything about it and to take him to court because my roof is finished and I should live with it.

"First or all (member name) watched me apply all the shingles from beginning to end of the job. The distribution center delivered the wrong Color shingle I didn't know it was the wrong color till after the job was done. I could understand if I put the wrong shingle on the home and he came back and I the job was done and It was the wrong color. But that's not the case he was there all day everyday from start to finish! Yet he never mentioned the shingle color being wrong. Infact he said he liked the color and it went perfect with the house. It wasn't until I was short a couple shingles so we went down to the barn to get some shingles from the last job , at that time I realized the color was wrong.I informed (member name) the color was wrong and I was glad that he said he liked it. It wasn't until a couple months later he called me up and said he wanted the other color. I said okay. Then he began to say he wanted me also to raise the roof three inches and install foam board to insulate between the boards and the roof. At this point I felt that he was trying to take advantage of the error to add the insulation. (If I was so bad then why would he hire me again after the first roof I did for him) Anyway the distribution company provided me with the shingles thanks to certainteed! We replaced his roof with the right color."

I HAVE REFERRED THEM TO TWO OTHER FAMILIES ALREADY. I JUST FELT THAT THEY DID A GREAT JOB ON THE ROOF AND WORKED TO KEEP ME HAPPY. THEY CLEANED UP THEIR MESS EVERY DAY AND MADE SURE NOT TO TEAR UP THE YARD.
