They were fast and did excellent work. We found a number of leftover rusty nails from the old roof that were not captured by their magnetic roller, but that was the only issue. On the first day of the job, the roofer requested a downpayment, which was not part of the original terms (which was that full payment was due upon completion of the job). We were able to give him a bank check, but this caught me off guard a bit.

The owner, Jim, visited my home to provide a detailed overview and estimate. He was very straightforward, clear, and courteous. His team came on a clear day, and performed the work in 8 hours. The team worked very professionally. They completed the roofing job within one day, cleaned up all of the old roofing that was removed, and used no loud music or profanity. I was referred to L&L by my parents who also had their roof done a few years ago, and they have had no problems with the service, or the quality of the new roof. Several of my neighbors also observed the work begin done, and my next door neighbor had her roof done by L&L as well a few weeks after mine. We have had a few very heavy rainstorms since the roof was installed, and i have checked for leaks after the storms and did not find any. I highly recommend L&L Roofing to anyone in the RI area looking for a new roof.

I would HIGHLY recommend this roofing company to anyone. The owner, Jim Lawton, was very prompt in providing an estimate, his crew arrived right on time on the day that he promised, they protected my yard with tarps, they installed the quality roofing material that I selected in the color that I picked, they cleaned up the grounds so that you couldn't tell that they had been there, they were all very professional, and the resulting roof looks beautiful! 

I contacted Jim for a quote to replace the shingles on a 3-car garage. Within the week I had a proposal and photos of my garage detailing the work to be done. Once I mailed the agreement the job was completed by the end of the same week. I received a morning call confirming details of job. Crew arrived checked in with me and got straight to work. Very clean worksite through the entire process. Made improvements to gutter and trim. Efficient crew, had all materials on hand. Everyone I spoke to was very courteous and approachable. The surrounding area was spotless. I love the color and appearance of my garage roof.

They were truly phenominal. No leaks on the roof. We even had a hurricane a few days after the roof was installed not a leak or a tear anywhere.

L & L Roofing was good and they did the work all in one day. They were in and they were out and they were done and they cleaned up nice. They did a good job.

My interactions with them went very good.  They did a good job.  They came in little than their estimate, but they were little high.

They were absolutely outstanding. I cannot say enough good about them. It was an extremely difficult roof to tackle, and they did a beautiful job.

They removed the whole roof and repaired the planking. They put in moist water and foamant and a new roof. It has been good so far. We had a lot of problems with ice stands in 2010 so we had to have a roof put on. We had a mild winter this year so we didn’t have any problems but it really didn’t have a good test. We are hoping the roof gets a good test this month. Their pricing was fair. Our overall experience with them has been excellent.

They did an excellent job. They were a little expensive but did great work. They also changed all my gutters. I was very pleased with their service.

They did a good job and I would use their service in the future.

Update 12/3/11.  Shortly after we had the work done, we still had a leak in our house where the house proper meets our garage/breezeway add on.  When we called Jim back, we were advised there was no way his work could have results in the leak - he charged us $150 to send two guys out and apply caulking around the windows on our second floor.  This past september we started calling around contractors to find someone to investigate our continued leak.  We found one who would take on the job (review also posted to angies).  When the shingles were removed where the house meets the add-on, we found that the original flashing (to the house) was still in place with nails driven through it on the roof portion and no sealant around it.  Weather protection was placed on the first 3 feet of the roof, but nothing where the structure meet.  This is more of an FYI for people getting roof jobs done.  To do this part correctly, you need someone who can do roofs and siding.  To correct our leak, we needed to remove some of the siding so the flashing could be replaced and the appropriate weather protection added.  See pictures in other posting).

Jim from L&L was quick, affordable, and did good work but I would have DEFINITELY appreciated having a heads up about this and brought another contractor in to work in parallel and remove the siding for his team so we wouldn't have to redo-work.

The first reach out to Jim @ L&L Roofing we got an appointment scheduled. Jim came out on his own first to inspect the roof and compiled the best report I ever saw (had 7 estimates and this outshined all). The package Jim left included info on the company, list of referrals, well laid out estimate, and color digital print outs of our existing roof which served as the discussion points on our face to face meeting. After we reviewed the packet Jim came by and we discussed the job. We went through the estimate, what his team was going to do, and reviewed the photos so we knew first hand what we had up their and what he was going to do with it. When we signed off on the work we were given a lead time of 4 weeks and advised that no money was due until after the work was complete and we were satisfied. A couple days went by and we got a call back with a heads up that he would be by in a couple days if we were ok with that as a commercial job they had lined up was being delayed. Ecstatic we said 'yes!'. My fiance and I left our house at 7:30am on the 21st and when we pulled in the driveway at 5pm we had no clue anyone was ever at the house! The roof came out phenomenal and the property was cleaner then when we left it. The following day Jim called to make sure we were satisfied and to see if we had any questions/concerns. We got many compliments from our neighbors who were around to see it. They were impressed with the team that came out and the efficiency in which they worked. L&L has flexible payment options so we were able to do half cash and half credit. Follow up communication has been great and I'm blown away by the quality and the price. I would gladly use L&L again! Note: This job was originally quoted 6500 but due to moisture damage on the plywood under the shingles (something we knew about before hand from our home inspection) most of the sheets had to be replaced which drove of the price. We were alerted to that before hand from L&L and figured for a hefty increase based on the home insectors report.

They had a great crew. They finished in a day with good workmanship. There was a few things I didn't like, I should have kept a better eye on them. Price wise I don't think I could've done better.

I CAN'T SAY ENOUGH ABOUT THIS COMPANY. THEY GAVE ME THE BEST PRICE, AND THEY MADE SURE THEY LAID TARPS AROUND THE HOUSE TO COLLECT DEBRIS. THEY EVEN PUT THEIR CIGARETTE BUTTS IN THEIR POCKETS. THE COURTESY LEVEL WAS REFRESHING.

THEY GAVE US A VERY HONEST PRICE. THE PRICE WAS ALSO VERY COMPETITIVE. THERE WERE SOME MINOR PROBLEMS BUT THEY CAME BACK AND FIXED THEM. I THOUGHT THAT THEY DID REALLY GOOD.
