We called them on a Sunday for a large tree that had fallen. They responded on Monday, arrived on Tuesday to cut it all up, returned on Thursday to do the cleanup...the very best cleanup job we have ever seen. They were polite, professional and prompt. Recommend highly

Once I gave him the okay they came out on a Saturday and took the tree down and cleaned up. They were quick, very neat and did a great job. I would hire them again.

Evan and Eric have done tree work for us 3 times in the past few years, once at our home in Warwick and twice at our home in Narragansett.I have been very satisfied with their work. Eric returns calls quickly, estimated all 3 jobs within 1 day and the work was completed as agreed for the price agreed. Eric was  polite and professional to a difficult neighbor at my vacation house.I wouldn't hesitate to(and have) recommend them.

They were initially later than the promised work date due to a supposed sickness with one of the tree personnel. The job was not completed and after multiple times contacting them to finish the work, they never returned a phone call.  There were at least 3 contact numbers given and calls were not returned from either of these.  I would not use this company for tree work ever.

The work was never completed.

HMM!!  Looking at the response from this provider kind of summarizes the experience.  "It was only 2% of the job not finished"  2% of a $2,000 is only $40.  Please note that this job was paid for in full in good faith thinking the work would get done complete.
I guess $40 is not a big deal and having the 2% of the job being branches sticking out of a huge oak tree that otherwise was trimmed is o.k.  Sorry to vent, I learned a big lesson on this one.
Response from Coastal Timber Tree Service
"The comments given by this customer are the result of a miscommunication for which i take full responsability for. The portion of the job that was not done represented approx. 2% of the total job that was completed."

Received a return phone call within an hour.  Eric stopped by that afternoon to look at the job and provide an estimate.

Their price was the most affordable of the companies providing estimates, by up to 25%.

The work was scheduled 2 weeks in advance and estimated to required most of a day.  A confirmation call was received the day before work was scheduled.  On the work date the crew showed up at 9 am as they said they would.

Two trees along driveway were taken down with a bucket truck.  The third tree had to be climbed.  Very controlled and very professional work by the team of 3 men.  All and all they were very efficient and finished the job in six hours.

They demonstrated respectfullness for our property overall including avoiding damage to an apple tree that was problematic and avoiding digging up the lawn.  All limbs and debris were raked up and cleared from the lawn areas.

Before leaving Eric directly asked if I was happy with the effort an whether there was anything else they could do for us.

Totally positive experience all around.

Watching a 100 HP chipper in action is amazing.  Brings back memories of the movie Fargo.

Although I usually use Angie's List to find all service personnel, I saw these guys working in my neighborhood. I watched them work for awhile and was impressed at the work and the care they took of the surrounding landscape (not that I have any now).  I left a message asking for an estimate, and I heard from Evan within an hour or two. Since he was close by, he came right over.  The trees on the sides of my drive were big, but he showed me that he could just trim them and that was all I needed. He agreed that the big pine should come out. I asked about the yews in my yard (40 years old and I'm not into geometric-cut shrubs) and he gave me a very low price for removing those.  The price to grind the stump on the big tree was $200 and when I agreed to that he said he'd also include the stumps of all the others. He quoted different services separately (trimming trees and removing big tree, removing yews, stump grinding) so I was able to decide how much of it I wanted to do.  I chose to do it all.
Once they arrived, the guys got right to work and didn't stop until they were done. I was amazed at how fast they worked, and how carefully.  They were finished in about 2 1/2 hours, including the cleanup. The drive looks so open and the yard looks so airy. I'm delighted with the results. Now it's a little bare, and it's time for me to get to work landscaping.

This was the second time we've used Coastal Timber. Evan returned my call shortly after I left a message and arranged to meet me for an estimate the next afternoon. He was on time, discussed the details, gave me an estimate, and we agreed upon a date before he left. The trees were on an historic cemetery lot that abuts my land. I had received permission from the Historic Society to have them removed, but there are restrictions on digging below the ground. Since Coastal had worked for me last year, they understood the sensitivity of the situation and made accommodations. In addition, they removed a huge rhododendron from my lawn. When they left, the area was cleaner than it had been before they started and the 15-foot diameter circle was raked smooth and ready for grass seeding. These men know what they're doing, they do it well, and they are total professionals in every aspect of their work.

Simple job to trim the bottom branches and dead branches on the big maple tree in my backyard. The clean up was so good, i almost forgot they did it while i was at work that day. They worked around my kids swing set and fence around the backyard.
